Estimate: €25,000 - €30,000
Registration Number: N/A
Chassis Number: N/A

This extraordinary lot features 4 McLaren built GoKarts for the personal use of Ron Dennis and his family. They were built by the McLaren factory and include two adult karts with P50 tuned 100cc engines and two cadet karts, all with individual spare engines and components.

Included in the sale is the original custom made trailer with built in generator and pneumatic pump that can house all four karts with spares. This collection of GoKarts was never intended for public sale and as such, represents a unique opportunity for any karting enthusiast to follow in Ron Dennis' footsteps and provide motorsport thrills for all the family. Unrepeatable indeed.

Maybe McLaren can buy them back for next season....?

Speaking in an exclusive interview with AUTOSPORT, team principal Martin Whitmarsh said that the combination of the 2012 car over-performing compared to its wind tunnel model and the 2013 car underperforming led to McLaren losing its way at the start of this year.
"Sometimes you're lucky in life and you stick all the elements together and they add up," said Whitmarsh. "Sometimes they just don't.
"There were times when it's come good and we don't really know why.
"At the end of last year, some of the developments over-performed. We were actually over-delivering at the track.
"That was another thing that caused this: we're always looking at the correlation between full-scale wind tunnel and CFD, and there's always an offset between those, and we work on that.
"That was another thing that has exacerbated this situation. The real [2012] car was actually better than the wind tunnel [model]."

Now i've heard it all! So last year with Lewis in the team the car overperformed, and the team were over delivering.

So this year isnt so bad afterall, its just that last year they overperformed and thats why this year 'seems' really bad

Looks like 2015 can't get here soon enough for Mclaren.
ESPNF1 McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says McLaren's Honda engine deal in 2015 will secure the team's future competitiveness for a decade.

McLaren announced earlier this year that it will join forces with Honda in 2015, bringing an end to a 20-year engine partnership with Mercedes-Benz. So far the team has only referred to the deal as "multi-year", but Whitmarsh says it will keep McLaren at the top of the sport for the next ten years.

"There is obviously a massive excitement in the company," he said. "I was around when we last raced with Honda and they have a racing culture and a racing spirit.

"That's exciting and very motivational within the team and we can now look ahead to the next ten years knowing we have got a fantastic budget, resources and a partner to continue winning and being successful in Formula One. It's a challenge, it always is, but I think it's an exciting one."

McLaren is expected to announce a title sponsor to replace the outgoing Vodafone at the end of the end of the year and, combined with the Honda deal, Whitmarsh said the team has a "very secure" long-term budget.

"We've got a good range of sponsors going forward and of course Honda is a great technical and commercial partner. We've got a very secure budget."

Shocking. Just shocking for a TP to utter such gutter in public...a team well and truly lost.

Ron Dennis had this guy under his wing for more than a decade, and still put him in charge? :beans:
