Two pole squeeze-masters going at it.

Oh, yes! :P

Fantastic lap by Fernando to get his second pole on a trot.
Now he needs to win the race, though.
But the Ferrari looks genuinely quick, whether the track is dry or damp.
So it should be an interesting race.

The start.. geez... the top 5 in WDC are the top 5 in the grid.. that's great.
And I'll watch the race alongside a Hamilton and McLaren fan.. so hopefully I'll be the one celebrating :P

And great Rubens, by the way! I wasn't expecting that!

Hadn't noticed that, but yeah that's an interesting grid.
Lewis should take P2 on the start, so i guess the race will have to be exciting because everyone behind lewis will want to improve and take that position. So i'm guessing they will all go tooth and nail after Lewis. Whle everyone else tries to out strategize Alonso.

Too bad Massa couldnt get inbetween! Massa in-between there would have made things much more interesting for the championship.

it was very good thinking from Alonso to get that lap in Q2, that way they could relax and fix the issue knowing they had at least set a decent time. Also, Alonso looked set to improve on his lap but i think lost out on sector 3 which was his strongest sector on previous runs....

If Alonso can get through the first corner cleanly and ahead of Vettel; the Spaniard has to be favourite to win; overtaking will be tough on the track given that it's a street circuit which are generally notoriously dull because of the lack of overtaking opportunities. But with the McLarens being quick starters; that could through a spanner in the works. For me; stand outs in qualifying were Kobayashi qualifying inside the top 10 and Rubens putting his Williams in sixth on the grid. Away from the sharp end of the grid; it seems that Bruno Senna is not a patch on his legendary uncle; being out-qualified by his new team mate [who hasn't raced for three years] by over a second, not good!!!

Does anyone else get off the couch and sit on the floor to watch the GP starts to see the action as close up as possible, or am I the only dweeb on this forum?

Yeah, tomorrow...my nose is going to be pressed up as tight to that screen as possible!!!!

This is my chair, and at the start of the race I'm sitting at the very forward edge of the ottoman! I get up and pace quite a lot.
