I Have this game on Xbox 360 and so far its amazing, but to be honest, the pitting isn't great.

Ya the pit stops are awful. I nearly try pit at weird times to avoid pitting with other AI. You just sit there while everyone drives by! :banghead:

Is it just me or is the Lotus dreadful around Catalunya?

No, Catalunya is just broken. Don't know why, but everyone is complaining about being 2 seconds or more off the pace there. I just raced there and drove the life out of my lotus to qualify 12th. Then during the race I was last, and about 2 seconds slower than even the hispania's and Virgin cars.

Apparently some have said it's something to do with the tyre sim. Turning it off has seemed to have helped people.

It's the middle sector. I can go purple in the first two if I throw the car around, but in the middle sector the AI seems to be able to take certain turns at full-throttle where I have to lift off to make it, particularly the one at the top of the hill leading out on to the short straight. I've gotten so frustrated I might just retire from the race. I've thrashed Trulli so far in the season, so... :hehe:

Edit: I can confirm that turning tyre sim off helps, but too much. My time in the Lotus is now 1:24.5 after a couple of laps on a green track. Hmm. :/
Edit2: 1:22.535

So now I have to choose between first and last. :hehe:

yeh its the tyres not liking it. but sector 2 really is wierd even in the ferrari i loose time there and im nailing purple around the rest of the track.

while you are right about the turn at the top of the hill intro the straight but i have managed to take it full on it just requires the absolute perfect turn in and exit otherwise you overdo it put a tyre in the gravel spin and bye bye race :(.

i guess its there that the AI make the time up .

After restarting my career plenty of times I've decided to do a 5 year career and start off at Torro Rosso. So far I started last and finished last at Bahrain, although I performed 17 overtakes in 3 laps to end up 7th. Although all my work was undone when I pitted for the primes - which I'm really s*** on.

In Melbourne it's rainy and I've qualified in 2nd, but I've had to restart a billion times because of bloody Hamilton (who I incidentally took out in Bahrain). :hehe:

Yeah, I started a new career. 7 seasons, and started by racing for Lotus.
Thought I'd be scrapping for points at every race, but.. Bahrain 4th, Australia 4th, Malaysia 7th, China 11th, Spain dnf, Monaco 3rd, Turkey, 3rd, Canada 1st, Valencia 2nd.

All that desipite being at Legendary difficulty, can't imagine what being in a Ferrari, McLaren or Red Bull will be like, :hehe:

What assists have you got on and what length race are you doing?

If you don't let the ai do all the practice sessions they won't be up to speed. Without any assists on you would be doing well to get into the top 12 in a Lotus.

30% race distance, and the whole long weekend, 3 practices sessions etc. I keep abs and auto-shifting on.

I've seen people go seconds faster with auto-shifting off though. Personally I've never been able to get used to it though.

So you go to expert settings and then customise? Because if you customise lower skill settings then the ai race at that skill setting.

I race with all the assists off (makes me much slower, specially without tc) for Qualifying & Race. I tend to use the corner racing line in practice sessions so to learn the breaking points.

Man, Monaco is tough. I'm surprised I've managed to scrap through to Q2 (and that was running with a damaged front wing!). Hoping to at least meet the qualifying target set by the team, which is 15th. Going to hate racing around here though. :hehe:

It takes a bit of getting use too alright. You kind of have to find a rhythm around the track and stick to it or you will plant your self up against the barrier when you try to push harder. :(

I never spend too much time on cataluna and monaco...it's like:
qualify last? crash in the second lap(monaco)?

no biggie....I have the rest of the season to compensate...
