I think all we can read into so far from these tests is that the Ferrari is quick. Williams are still doing the very heavy and very long runs for Hulkenberg today but he feels the new Cosworth engine is "delivering" despite it still being limited for this test.

And Rosberg accidentally pulled up at the Williams pit box today instead of the Mercedes box. :hehe:

James Allen says the picture is even harder to judge because whilst Ferrari, McLaren & Sauber seem to be the fastest, McLaren was on a different program from the other two - focusing on 20-25 lap runs.

Yeah, no doubt Sauber and Ferrari were running lighter than most. However, both teams where showing extremely good consistent times, and good tyre management. Good news for Ferrari :D and good news for Sauber :D I couldn't be happier about that. Really hope Kobayshi does well this year.

Comparatively, where as Ferrari were doing runs and getting quicker as the fuel burned off, Mercedes were doing runs where the times stayed mainly the same. Meaning not as good tyre management. None the less, we've still got several weeks left, and the cars will be much much different then.

I wouldn't say The Scuderia and Sauber were running less than most. I'd be amazed if they were running lighter than Renault - and with Toro Rosso it likely doesn't matter because they probably are legitimately slow.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but Mercedes are running the 2009 front, and apparently rear, wings of the Brawn.

AUTOSPORT understands that Mercedes is looking at changes to its weight distribution based on the information it has gathered at Valencia this week. The team is also yet to put its definitive 2010 front wing and diffuser onto the car.

And Mercedes are going to use their 2010 wings and diffuser at the final test.

I had mentioned it.

No one really knows what they're up to. But I'd assume they were running late with development and they just wanted to get the car on the track ASAP, so those parts I'd assumed are still being finished off. How knows when they'll be on the car, but I'd expect it to be next week at Jerez.

Not bad from Mclaren then, i think there around the same as Ferrari considering what i've been reading about the lenght of runs.

I Think the Merc might be slightly behind Mclaren/Ferrari.

I'm still assuming Sauber is Light, same with Torro Rosso.

Not sure about Renault long runs or just abit behind the Merc. Williams have said there doing Long runs so it might there half sandbagging.

Have to see what RBR manage.

Mercedes will be a force. They just look so calm and at ease, and witty........
Ferrari seems fast, but i'm sure of all the drivers they were the ones most eager to rip it. Mclaren look like they are on their own agenda... and Red Bull is probably a bit caught behind.

@ Rusko
- I must agree the do look fast, however I'm still not convinced I have a funny feeling there not focusing like other teams on how to get the car to run under the weight, extra fuel but on low fuel to try and pinch the races towards the end of the Grand Prix's

From my observations, the Ferrari's handling seems to be better than other cars with the Mercedes looking like it has Handling issues same as the Renault.

A revision of who for me is the questest taking into account there first days, laps run, how many laps they were out on track...

BMW Sauber are first followed by McLaren and Ferrari (both equal, however the McLaren rear wing, diffuser and general aero structure makes me thing the McLaren is faster)
Followed by Williams, Mercedes, Renault and Toro Roso

I really really really really really want Sauber to win 2010, even though I'm a brit and Support McLaren greatly. I also hope Ferrari are not running stupidly light just in attempt to get sponsors because of they will get less sponsor offers this year because of 2009. I want them to do well and be fighting McLaren... I love the McLaren vs Ferrari battles.

I have a countdown timer as my desktop background until the start of 2010 (first race, If I have work on the first friday, I will take the day off.)

I have never really followed sauber, I'm more of a Ferrari & McLaren watcher... but they are impressing me.

So far i reckon that Ferrari have the ultimate pace by about 5 tenths with McLaren and Sauber slightly behind with McLaren having good long run pace. The short wheel base cars of Renault, Mercedes and Williams seem to be struggling. I expect that Ferrari may have fuel efficiency problems.
