Besides, why is Force India OK but USF1 is jingoistic? Would it be all OK if it was Windsor/Anderson racing? Or do you have something against Americans? Just wondering?

its not the fact that there is the name of a nation in the tittle, its the american team for american drivers. yes of course they will have other nationalities in their team...but they will over look that inconvienient truth as best they can im sure.
Not even ferrari insist on italian drivers for the sake of it. The prospect of grandstands filled with the chants "usa..usa..usa" dosnt sit well with me at all. I am not anti american, but i am against using formula one to promote nationalism, at least in such a blatent way, no matter where they are from.
and btw, one of the best guys in F1 to talk to about F1 is an american...tyler alexander. He is a racer through and through...bet your life he dosnt give a stuff where his colleagues are from, or what passport his drivers have.

Should we ban playing the national anthems of winning driver and constructor during podium ceremony. Shall we ban the sea of red Ferrari flags. USF1 is just a team name, so get over it. I've seen a lot of words thrown around in different USF1 posts, but the one missing word is PATRIOTISM. There is nothing wrong with showing national pride at an international sporting event.

I also have my reservations the team will reach the grid, atleast by 2010, but I hope it does for the sake of F1 as a whole and isn't that the most important thing, to have a full grid? I hope you will stick to F1 politics and not your personal world political agenda as that is where you took a serious detour from the topic of this thread and the basis of this forum.

Lets talk racing man ok! :)

Patriotism in sport is good.

And wasn't grand prix racing originally sort of between nations?

if you read what i have said, its nothing to do with general politics, other than politics of racing...maybe if you read what i said with an open mind you can see there is no political agrenda...only an agenda with the ethos of the team itself, which is part of racing....besides which, i was answering a politely asked question directly to me from another forum poster

I understand where you're coming form to a certain extent, The US hasn't cultivated the best international reputation in in the last few years but you need to see the American driver thing as the gimmick that it is. I don't say that in a negative way its simply the best way to cultivate sponsors for a new team. It would be harder to sell product in the US with non US drivers than it would with Americans (or at least one). You have to admit its a little different in mainland Europe because they're a group of smaller countries bunched together, they're used to intermigling and interacting, heck you can basically just think of the EU as one big country these days :D . The US is more isolated and consumers need to relate to the "stars" who are hawking any particular brand.

Once USF1 gets off the ground I'm sure they'll become a "get the fastest driver available" team like the rest of the grid . Or possibly they'll end up with the driver that brings the most cash or the most sponsorshi etcc. Point is , it won't always be exclusively American.

He's trying to make a point, he is not saying that we should ban Ferrari red flags.

I did read what you said and with an open mind it just seem's my take on it was not what you meant because how you stated it left a wide gap for interpretation, no big deal.
