Yes he would of won. Thank God it didn't rain and he was forced to pit again just for tyres. Oh and that bloody Martin Brundle and his mate that commentate F1 for the English speaking world are a disgrace! Seriously all they do is edge on Lewis Hamilton and Lewis Hamilton this and Lewis is so great and he is can WIN, WIN, WIN........ I swear I had to mute the TV for 10 minutes and just watch the cars go round and round in silence as both commentators got on my nerves. Their comentary regarding this is a disgrace as far as I am concerned. People in the UK are not the only people getting their coomenatary. So are other English speaking countries such as The USA, Canada, Eire, Australia, New Zealand to name a few, and there are many who couldn't care about if a British driver were to win. It is God damm inconsiderate and a absolute disgrace. I can't believe I actualy had to mute the TV for at least 10 whole minutes!

What the hell is wrong with I said? McLaren have one of the biggest budgets in Formula One. They have the best facilities in Formula One, with the Technology Centre, Brand Centre and kick-bottom simulator, and a fantastic history in Formula One, and also some other forms of motorsport. That's not arrogance. That's the bloody truth of the matter. And who are you to lecture anybody about arrogance. Ferrari and their fans are most pompous, delusioned and arrogant people in Formula One. The tifosi think that because they sport a red Ferrari top that they are allowed to berate the fans of other teams and non-Ferrari drivers at Grands Prix.

Just a quick comment. This thread is about Vettel but Ferrari Tiffosi have the divine right to be arrogant because Ferrari has the divine right to be above everyone in F1 as Ferrari is very much what F1 stands for......... This has been said like a true arrogant Tifosa. Now back to Vettel. Great win and you did in a Ferrari powered car. Almost as good as an actual Ferrari winning. Now dear FIA, since our great Ferrari engine powered the talented Vettel to Victory at Monza, may we sincerly have half his constructors points given from Toro Rosso to Ferrari? After all if it wasn't for us, he never would of actually won it you know......................

Far more was made of Vettel and his maiden win (as it should have been) than Lewis hamilton.Yes they focused on him when he'd closd from 15th place to within a second or two of Vettel but that also merited comment.

I disagree, Martin is pretty objective, he even said that Hamilton probably did break the rules in Spa, and that he definately pushes his luck with the rules and so on...

Allen, Blundell and Rider are total inbreds though. Gah! Hopefully those three'll be long gone next season.

Actually the USA and i am guessing Canada get the SPEED coverage not ITV!

and go and watch the Italian feed live online then but i bet you wouldnt whinge when they are egging on Ferrari to win

and dont blame ITV commentators for Australian viewers, if Ten was full on they would have their own commentators attending the races, but they are tight arses when it comes to F1

Well the Australian commentators talk for a bit and they are ok. Talk about Australian commentators, I have downloaded some Grand Prixs from the net. Old ones and some happen to be the Channel 9 Australian coverage and it includes the bit before and after the race by Alan Jones and Darrell Eastlake. Say that Darrell Eastlake is one legendary man. He loves Ferrari. Now that is one Australian man I like.

Regarding the Italian coverage. The difference is that it is viewing mostly only in Italy, plus in parts of Switzerland, Slovenija and maybe some other country on the confines of Italy. It isn't showing in the "whole world" thus it doesn't really matter if they edge on Ferrari. Anyway if USA and Canada don't get ITV I guess it doesn't matter, but the matter is Australia, New Zealand probably and Eire probably do and seriously everytime those comentators keep saying Lewis this and that and British this and that it annoys me. Nothing against the British but hey I just want to watch the race.

like i said you dont like the British coverage then watch it live online in Italian and then youll love hearing all the Ferrari this Ferrari that commentary or just watch it on channel Ten and understand youre watching a British telecast for British viewers

Yes we do.


In Canada we get Speed, but we also have our own Canadian version of ESPN, called TSN. It has the races and quali. I prefer to watch that rather than the Speed coverage because it simply broadcasts the ITV feed. As I have said before, I prefer overall to hear JA and MB to Varsha, Hobbs and Matchett, even though I love Matchett and hate JA.

he is a great driver but did anyone stopp to congragulate the pit crew, fantastic pit desicions, pperfect fuel load, good nose choice, the pit crew did half but vettel finished it like a pure legend

Vettel could call off RBR switch, says Lauda

Niki Lauda would not be surprised if, with the blessing of Dietrich Mateschitz, Monza winner Sebastian Vettel calls off his switch to Red Bull Racing for 2009.

The 21-year-old currently drives for Red Bull's junior team Toro Rosso, which with the Ferrari customer engine is currently showing higher performance than its Renault-powered parent.

"Vettel should do a comparison test in the winter with the Toro Rosso and the Red Bull and decide then," Lauda, the former triple World Champion and now regular F1 commentator, told Sport Bild.

Lauda, 59, believes Vettel's contract is with Red Bull, rather than with either of Mateschitz's teams.

Sebastian Vettel has played down claims his move from Toro Rosso to Red Bull's senior team in 2009 is a backwards step for his career.

The Monza winner is set to graduate to Red Bull Racing, who are struggling to match the pace of the Ferrari-powered Toro Rosso team despite fielding a near-identical chassis and a much bigger budget.

The performance difference between the sister teams has moved observers like former triple World Champion Niki Lauda to observe that Vettel, 21, might do better to simply stay put.

But F1's youngest-ever Grand Prix winner said: "I am very confident for next year and I don't believe that it is a step back."

"I am still convinced that it is the right way to go for next year," the German told F1's official website.

Vettel, to complete the last four races of 2008 with Toro Rosso, spent two days at the wheel of Red Bull's RB4 at Jerez last week, not only to acclimatise to his next team but to give feedback about how RBR might improve.



"Obviously there is a lot to do," he said. "I believe it would be unfair to say that they are worse than Toro Rosso at the moment."

He thinks Red Bull is just struggling with the finer details of its package at the moment.

"This year Formula One in the midfield is very tight so if you give away two or three tenths here, and another two or three tenths there, then quicker than you think you lose half a second. And that makes a huge difference on the starting grid," said Vettel.

"Mateschitz is a logically-thinking guy," said Lauda, who is also an Austrian.

"He wants to have success with his brand.

So if he sees that it would be best to leave Vettel with Toro Rosso, I am sure he would do that," he added.

The possibility of simply switching the Ferrari engine to Red Bull Racing should also be considered, a move which would thereby allow Vettel's name to be directly associated with the brand, rather than letting the main operation seem like a junior team.

I've said before he'll move in 2011. He stays with TR he'll be screwed. RBR are in talks of installing Ferrari engines and that will boost our performances with ease over Toro Rosso. Plus, it's clearly evident that over the tests he's been doing better with the RBR. The Toro Rosso being significantly better than the RBR is total BS only because DC has been putting in crap all points. Toro Rosso being sold before 2010 will certainly pave way for him to move to another team.
