I had that when I left my first company...my boss knew I had signed for a rival company and gave me about 5 weeks "gardening leave". I don't know what LRW is complaining about, it was awesome. Get paid to sit home and laugh at everyone going to work everyday. :D

Its not the gardening leave i have an issue with - its great - its come the end of September i might not have a job, and might not be able to pay the rent that Im feeling a bit crap about.....

Well, as Im on Gardening Leave, I have had a LOT of time to watch the olympics, and have been watching about 12 hours a day.

I need the Olympics to hurry up and f*** of so I can get my act in gear, and find a new job.

What exactly is gardening leave? Is that why my garden looks crappy because we don't get time off for it in the US?

Its your employer wants to get rid of you, but has to give you your contractual notice period, and rather than the awkwardness/danger of having you at the work place during that notice period, they pay you to sit at home doing sweet FA (apart from looking for new jobs, and watching the Olympics)

A more eloquent explanation

Doing sweet FA? I think FM's bum is sweet, but FA? :P:hehe:

FA!=Fernando Alonso

My ex boss decided the laws don't apply to him, maybe because he knows I don't have a garden.

8 Badminton players have been disqualified from the Olympics for throwing matches in order to receive more favorable placings in further rounds. Citius, Altius, Fortius is supposed to be the Olympic spirit, so I applaud this!

The eight disqualified players are world doubles champions Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang of China and their South Korean opponents Jung Kyun-eun and Kim Ha-na, along with South Korea's Ha Jung-eun and Kim Min-jung and Indonesia's Meiliana Jauhari and Greysia Polii.

For Wiggins, first ever Brit to win le Tour, and i think as it stands now, he has the best medal record of any Brit in Olympic history. And he can, and probably will win more this year. Absolutely no doubt in my mind that he should win sports personality - if he doesn't there's something very wrong with people.

Some intense rowing there. What an amazing finish! Shame GB were just pipped to the post at the end.

So, the common wisdom says that the organizer country of the Olympics usually gets a 'home boost' and wins about 50% more medals than usual (according to some report I saw the other day).
Well, so far the UK have been quite shìte :eek::yikes:

Maybe should have waited until the first week was complete before saying that... :wink::hehe:
