It's quite a tough one that. :P So, all current teams...

Silverstone '54 - Most likely Ferrari? I have zero idea of positions, drivers etc though!
Are the other two McLaren and Lotus? Would make a bit of sense given that they're '70's races...

The only possible teams are those i've mentioned or maybe Mercedes for 1954, but i don't think it's them.

I'm going to call this one close enough and declare you the winner on this one Scotty :-)

Of the current teams, Ferrari has the lowest starting grid position. They had a car start from 31st position in the 1954 British (Silverstone) GP. The Ferrari of Rossier started from 31st (2nd last) grid position. Fangio (Mercedes) was on pole but the race was won by Gonzales (Ferrari) who started from 2nd place on the grid.

The next to worst team, in terms of starting positions was Lotus. The have started from 30th position, in fact they have done this 3 times. 1961 Britain (Aintree) driven by Lucien Bianchi, again in 1961 Italy (Monza) driven by Gaetano Starrabba and the last time, 1972 USA (Watkins Glen) with Dave Walker driving.

The 3rd worst is by McLaren. It was achieved in 1971 USA (Watkins Glen) and the driver was Jo Bonnier.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure a couple of the current teams would be more than capable of achieving lower starting grip positions - if only there were enough cars in the race :D

Over to you Scotty for the next question.....

Hard to find good questions and balance the difficulty level... hmm... a couple of engine based ones from me now.

Last front engined F1 victory? Year/Circuit/Driver/Car.

First victory using a V10 engine?

Who took the last victory with a V8 engine BEFORE the 2.4l engine rules came into place in 2006?

With the banning of turbos and the 3.5l spec for 89, Most engine suppliers chose 10 pots, and Nigel Mansell won the first race of the season. He has the distinction of winning both the first and the last 3.5 litre race(the other was Austrailia 94, before a half litre was lopped off by Bernie). I cannot find any V10s before 89. Unless I missed one. I found all manner of configs, V12, V8, straight 6, V6, Straight 4, H16 even, etc etc, but no V10s that I saw.

In the 90s there were wins with V8s, notably by MS. Eventually they mandated V10s. I think the Yamaha was a V8. Damon Hill ALMOST won with that. I'm too lazy to look up V8s.

Mansell is the incorrect answer for the V10 question. :P

Well the V10 victory was in the first year after the end of the Turbos in 1989. Thierry Boutson Williams Renault!

Other two um V8 Ferrari?

Front engine Ferrari, Monza 60 ? All wild guess's lol

Last front engined winner.
Moss/Vanwell/58 Morocco

First V10, I would have thought that was the first V10 winner in 89. Ferrari won the first race, but we had a 12 so I'd guess
Senna/McLaren/89/San Marino

Last v8 before 2.4 spec.
Shumi/Benetton/94 Jerez

Yep, that's the one!

It's hard to guage difficulty sometimes...

The gauge is easy... if you and spanky think it's hard, then fuggedaboutit for the likes of me.

I've been crafting a very good question for the last few days, just have to answer one before I can chime in.

I need 2 drivers names.

Without ever winning, who has lead the most laps and who holds that distinction for the current drivers?

Rosberg or Heidfeld as a current driver.... I'll go with Heidfeld. Brundle (a complete guess) for all time.
