LOOK HOW CLOSE THE MCLAREN IS TO THE FERRARI'S. THAT IS IMPROVEMENT!

Hardly. The Ferrari appears to have gone backwards.

Everyone hates McLaren. . . why I'm not so sure, I guess because Hamilton left them, so they must be hated, or something.

Many British fans have followed Mclaren as the de facto national team for a while (at the sharp end, so no Williams etc) Hamilton was the first Brit since Coulthard at the team. Button had let down a lot of fans and was stagnating.

So McLaren in 2008 looked like the holy grail for many. Then all of a sudden we get the media and the new TP of McLaren trying to sell us a dummy by insisting Button was the British star in the British car.
This type of arrogance and insulting of the intelligence only works when its delivered by someone like Ron and pays off with success.

When it turns out to be a wash job, and Button is the 3rd highest paid driver on the grid in a team that needs all its funds, and Lewis is openly treated as a second class citizen leading to his exit to the German team where he is treated as an equal then dissent and open revolt is unaviodable

However, its not McLaren that has been buttcrashed by karma, its the trinity of Whitmarsh, Michael and Button. The stain of mediocrity on a noble face
Once the team start acting like players, the supporters will tyrn out to have short memories
(especially if Lewis comes back after Merc)

Persuaded to take the 2nd class wing, whilst giving button the 1st class one, leading to Buttons freak pole, and Lewis' rare stand, leading to the tweeting of telemetry to alert the outside world, leading to Lewis leaving for the German team where the drivers speed and ability defines his worth

Just my opinion, you did ask, no need to turn it into your usual circular 10 page discourse :hehe:

They suggested the wing was better, they didn't make him take it, and the team share data, Button would have access to the same data Lewis saw on the wing. I mean they had two wings didn't they, so no need to choose between the two drivers, not like Redbull did to Webber, taking off the wing to give to Vettel :hehe:

Lewis is the sort of driver who doesn't do tactics or tyres, he just races fast. That's why he is probably the fastest in F1 right now.

Any statman could let us know which were the WORST McLaren years in their history?

It would be interesting to see how this year stacks up compared to their worst years.

I've been secretly hoping that McLaren's new title sponsor is McDonalds. Just want to hear the announcers say Team McDonalds McLaren Mercedes.

This is the new Mobil 1 ad we've been bombarded with during the recent GPs... it's painful to watch.

It would be better if McDonalds suddenly started supplying F1 engines. Tooned McLaren McDonalds. Now that's comedy.

Then McDonald's would start selling spin off happy meals, and you could buy McDonald Mclaren Mercedes McNuggets.

Mercedes is out of the picture quite soon.

Maybe if McLaren's financial situation get's dire they could spin themselves of as McTooned McLaren McDonalds, the 3M of F1. And hopefully convince 3M to be a sponsor. 3M could also help supply the tapes and hooks to hold the car together.

They could have a Tooned episode featuring Donald duck, that would surely work for McDonalds
