Mercedes: A minus???

:yikes::yikes::yikes: Are we still going on historical performance here...or improvement through a season...or results?

A+ B**CH!!!

So your saying a car that locked out the front row, that destroyed it's tyres on the out lap and the drivers limped home 6th and 12th is an A+ car?

This was a review of half the season!

Hmmm but is it three wins out of the last five races and is it six poles out of the last seven? Can't remember, something like that, certainly shows a huge upward trend and a vast improvement on last year.

Still an A+ Hammer?

I base my judgement by comparing the teams this year to where they were last year.

STILL most definitely an A+.

Hope this post doesn't twist your knickers in anyway, if it did I apologize in advance.

I think A- is fine, the start of the season was abit slow,Australia,Bahrain and Spain was poor, but if you base compared to last year,A+ is fine.

Mid Season review,is how the season went for them,3 races were a dissapointment,Alonso is ahead of Hamilton in the standings but Ferrari are rated lower because they were off the pace in Hungary,Germany and Silverstone and Monaco compared to their early season form.

Bittersweet weekend for Mercedes. It's looking like they'll have 2nd in the WCC race sewn up, but outscoring Red Bull this weekend was key and they came up short. Still the car is legit and consistent given their 3-4 finish.

I think Mercedes knew they didn't have a winning car today and gambled on changeable to wet conditions on race day that never came. Still Lewis seemed VERY optimistic about Singapore so I think Mercedes has yet to play all their cards.

A championship was never in the cards this season for Mercedes but I still believe they've got a shot at the WCC and it would be nice feather in the team cap to give Red Bull a run to the wire. It would be fantastic if that championship was still up for grabs in Brazil.

"We had a tough race but the team did a great job. The fans have made the weekend. I came into this weekend thinking we did not have as great a package here but I think we have a much greater package for Singapore."

Merc looked better in high downforce tracks, like Hungary and Monaco,I don't think Merc had the pace in low downforce trim,Monza might be different though.

Their car was helpless on the straights today, though I was surprised Webber couldn't get past Rosberg. Probably had no KERS/rev limited engine/Vettel-button engaged/etc....but the Redbull and Ferraris were just insane on the straights. Merc probably put all their eggs into the weather basket and hoped for a 1-2 today with a high downforce trim. Lewis' 2nd sector was quickest most of the race compared to Vettel and Alonso.

I was surprised at how quickly Lewis' Merc was usurped. As soon as it happened, on the very first lap, I knew the race was over.

I didn't think it was over since Vettel's car was still using an alternator.....

I'm just loving this Merc driver pairing, easily the best on the grid. Merc have one over all the other teams here; both capable of scoring good points, if one has an issue, the other one is there. I know there's the arguement that a strong driver and a ' second' are better to shoot for the drivers championship, but these two push each other, keep each other on their toes. I'd much rather see that than a guy in the other car who as to play second fiddle , resorts to politicking or just hasn't got the pace.
I love Rosbergs style( as in the way he goes about his business), his honesty and his enthusiasm. And these guys are good friends. It sound like a great atmosphere at Mercedes. Very exciting times!!!

Rosberg talks here about his battle with Lewis and how he thinks he'll get back on a par. Go for it Nico. You two are brill!!!

Closest pairing to Senna-Prost on the grid. Doesn't look obvious now but there's potential here unlike any other team on the grid. :whip:

Next year could be like 1998 with Mika and Coulthard near lapping the field in the first few races, and playing 'do you want this win or should I keep it pal?'

competition is always a good thing.

(not a dig against Buttton) but my feelings towards Rosberg is that unlike Button, he does feel that he can compete against Lewis in the car and doesn't have to resort to competing against Lewis in the garage or in the media.
