Yeah, i know exactly what you mean about picking favourites, it applies to me where the Foo Fighters are concerned (plus others including LZ!). No Quarter is great too, i love that lazy riff.

Les Paul eh? Post a pic when you get it. I want one myself but they cost a lot for a good one, i have an American Strat at the moment but single coils don't necessarily fit all the music i like playing...

Ok not a Gibson lol, but an Epiphone, still costs 320 quid!

And i did have a telecaster, i used to(still do) love bloc party more then anyone and their guitarist had one, but the input jack failed on me? then it just fell out! So i borrowed my sisters 3/4 size stratocaster (utter crap) and it just puts me off, i cant wait to run my fingers down a proper guitar neck again. its been so long.

Surely you can refit it if you really want to? A soldering iron and a tutorial from the net can get you a long way! :P Epi's are great guitars for the money i think, so no shame in getting one whatsoever. Certainly better than low end Gibsons, i've seen some pics which show the shocking build quality of some of them. Watch out for the electrics on Epiphones though, i have an Explorer that sometimes cuts the signal when you switch pickups for no apparent reason! I've seen others complain about issues like this too. Easily fixed though, i just haven't bothered. With Epis you can also easily just upgrade the pickups and get just as good a tone as ANY Gibson imo.

Well id have to show you whats wrong with it for you to know that its too much effort, ive had it for four years, this new guitar is overdue anyway.

Epiphones are a subsidiary of Gibson, made to the same specs apart from materials, and i think Gibsons are hand crafted aswell. I still dont know what colour to get cause ALL the pictures i search for of say heritage cherry sunburst les pauls look completely different, and the pictures on the website im buying it from are so crap if i had a pound for every pixel they had, id have a pound.

I only use my pickup on, i think rhythm for rolling stones shizz, all else is the treble one. Not that i know what either of them two mean, infact im so poor at music theory that im at a stalemate with my learning progression, i am technically able to do tapping, hammer ons pull offs at true speed of their original solos etc, but it takes ages to learn cause im below standard learning by ear and i dont know any theory, not scales or anything. Im gonna start learning that too though. Cause i cant just use video lessons for everything i wanna learn.

There's a pic of the insides of a shoddy Gibson LP somewhere but i can't find it. Seriously horrendous though, glue and random bits of wood everywhere. Cherry sunburst looks sweet as on LPs anyway imo, my mate has one and i like it :) any bindings/pick guards can make the overall look different though.

As for pickup choice it simply affects tone, just use whatever sounds good! Better if you can get a good tone from both, obviously. I personally recommend learning a bit of theory as it helped me understand exactly what i was doing, or more to the point what train of thought the guitarist themself had when they came up with the part you're learning... it just helps you come up with your own guitar parts a bit more easily, if that is what you are interested in doing.

Ah man, trying to find your favourite songs of a band thats b-sides rival their most known songs, i just cant do it, i mean literally. Ive just gone on yuotube to reply to my own favourites of the greatest band ever (Led Zep) and the related link always points me in the direction of another song i class as my favourite, they just made TOO MANY great songs. But this, this here is simply magical. The amount of trippy thoughts i have lying in bed going to sleep on it, theres just something so powerful about music, so powerful:

Edit: I can play over the hills too  , infact my bday is next week and my new les pauls coming....

Speaking of trippy: Ever tried Pink Floyd? :hippy:

Paul Rodgers imho has an iconic rock and roll voice and is a great fit for Queen, saw their concert a few years back on tv just after he had joined them.

Aswell back in the mid '80's I saw his 'The Firm' tour with Jimmy Page on guitar, wow what an honor that was. :)
