Do you think Button has a chance of the podium without bad luck from Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus?

because thats what Button says...

This is what I'm talking about. I don't know how many times I can repeat that you are blatantly misrepresenting his quote.

Acosmichippo I agree, this button bashing is getting beyond a joke and making every single thing button or Mclaren says into some negative spin. It's like that vettel (not Hamilton, was distracted by stargate) argument with mnmracer all over again except this time is just everyone in agreement but just going on about it.

in my opinion there's making a joke about a driver (I.E Oh Grosjean crash again, he must find sitting in an F1 car really uncomfortable and just wants to get out straight away) then there's constantly and sometimes quite viciously insulting another human being, that's just trying to do his job, who can't defend himself. It's almost becoming gang bullying.

Now I'm all for freedom of speech and civilised discussions but in my opinion its just a little harsh.

I didn't even know I wasn't supposed to like Button until i came on here. There are some pretty persuasive arguements, but it does seem overly harsh. If we can give credit to Vettel for atleast winning the WDC, if not for being the best or a great, we can extend the same courtesy to Button.

He does crap on though.

No doubt it would be because Button has kidnapped the families of everyone on the grid and said he will only release him if he wins. After all Button is a bond villain.

Now I feel bullied into not giving my honest views on the fine figure of a racing driver that is Jenson Button. 8-)

If Grosjean kept crashing every week you might run out of jokes but not others
In a dicatorship you get your head chopped off for critiscising the dictator. We critisce our political leaders at will, make jokes constantly but a few woolly headed moralists feel a driver is being bullied?
If a bear craps in the wood when you are not looking, would that upset you? Has Button complained about his feelings being hurt by comments? Why dont you write to the Daily mail and complain about excessive criticism in social media

If Button gets on the podium then there will be no criticism of him. If he gets through the weekend without duplictious or deceiving behaviour that warrants comment then there will be no comments

as there havent been for the few periods over the season that he has not done anything to deserve comments

i trust if he does get on the podium his supporters can provide the positive posts instead of getting their knickers in a twist because they are unable to normally

Oh come off it. Here you are once again belittling others' opinions when you're called out on your trolling.

What does that even mean?

Look, if you go back through this thread (Way back, just after Lewis announced he was leaving McLaren, to give timescales) the joking started, yeah he was being called duck before, but everyone has nicknames for drivers and it's all light hearted, then in a sort of mob mentality people started just bitching on about how slow he is, then it got to the stage were people are taking pot shots at his personal life, and every single little thing he said is spun around to make him sound like the most evil, lying, deceitful man ever to have lived.

I'm not one of these, hug a tree, save the badger, ban the nuke, eat grass, wind power will save us all type people, I've never purchased a copy of the Daily Mail, and quite frankly what would it matter if I did? I make a defence of a man who is getting thrashed on a forum for no real valid reason, then immediately you make it personal about me, or my political view; which kind of proves my point really.

Now I feel bullied into not giving my honest views on the fine figure of a racing driver that is Jenson Button. 8-)

Oh by all means express your honest view on the disturbingly handsome Jenson Button, but it's taking out of context quotes, highlighting a certain word, then going on about how wrong, or deluded he is. When most of the times he's probably told what to say by the sponsors.

Personally, I like Button! He's a bit "vanilla" as compared to some of the other drivers on the grid, in that he doesn't make waves nor does the media follow him to hang on his every word, facial expression or hand movement! But, I really do like his calm demeanour and his relatively controversy-free tenure in F1!

Like 1Lemon, I noticed that much of the negativity towards Button seems to have increased after Hamilton left McLaren. I think that maybe because of the fact that Button performed better than expected by most while partnering Hamilton and is now "the" driver the team focusses on and that sets up him for comparisons.

Is that fair? Probably not; but, it is what it is!!

Once again is it? I have pointed out that he has an opinion just like others do on button, just like others do on how often it's acceptable to critisce a driver

You on the other hand have done nothing except insult and pass judgement on others. You don't even have an argument concerning F1, only about ad hominem insults

Your last post has only one purpose and is therefore pure trollism

Why dont you try debate without insults, lets try again

this is the Mirrors headline about the same Button interview

Jenson Button vows to put McLaren back on the podium in Brazil after woeful season

So their headline is that Button VOWS to make the podium, are they bullying poor Jenson by twisting his words? Is their implication a filthy rotten piece of immorality?

Are they misrepresenting his quote?
