We've got an Italian in charge of course we'll win  . There's been alot of scrutiny for Capello since this draw. We're No.14 in the world and Czech are No.8. Even though we have a better team than them they can't gel together. The defence was a let down yesterday, ironic with an Italian in charge. Our attacking was a bit better which was an improvement. It's gonna be nice dumping Croatia out of the World Cup qualifiers. :)

If your England can do that, I'll be thinking of you when I hang s*** on my mum :hehe::wink: Nuh can't do that, I'll be hoping Croatia the best there, but then again 2 teams will get through and they will probably be both England and Croatia. By the way I don't like Fabio Capello. The English Football team is ok however.

Lippi didn't have the greatest of starts. 2-2 draw could have done better. But they put in a good 2nd half. Always nice to see the "Golden boy" out on pitch. Any news on whether Totti and Nesta will come back out of retirement? Both of them take quite a shine to Lippi.

Totti doesn't want to play at a national level anymore so he wont be playing. Nesta I don't know anything about yet. He is getting a bit old nowadays so maybe his time has just about come. Or maybe he might have a year or so left in him.

World Cup 2010 qualifiers. Italy wins 2-0 against Georgia and previously 2-1 away at Cyprus. Nice.
On another good note, Slovenija drew their first game against Poland and then bet Slovakia 2-1. Would be nice to see them qualify as well. On a different note Both England and Croatia won their first game but in the second game the 2 countries met in Zagreb and unexpectingly England thrashed Croatia 4-1. :( Nothing against England but my mother is Croatian so was going for them. On other notes, Spain thrased Armenia 4-0 and had also won their first game which I cannot rememebr who it was against. Scotland lost its first game to Makedonija, but then won whoever it was they played last to make up for that loss I guess. Makedonija lost 1-0 at home to The Netherlands.

I was hoping boring England would lose just to rub it into the faces of those overpaid prima donnas who play for them.

First thing is first, Dutchcruijff I haven't forgotten about those Cydonia and Atantis things. It is just that after the Belgium GP I have been busy but I'll try send you some stuff soon.

Now back on football. You know what I am in a way glad England bet Croatia. Croatian guys are so up themselves so good on England. Sick of them calling me half cro and all that crap and thinking they are some king sh1t!

AC Milan off to a bad start. I was hoping with the new signings and a revitalized squad they could win the Scudetto. Might see Roma in with a good chance this season. Last chance for Totti in my opinion.

As long as Juve wins it, that is all that matters. Look at the super strikers we have. Amauri, Del Piero, Iaquinta and Trezeguet. And not to bore you with the rest of our great squad I do want to mention that our Goal Keeper is "Saint" Buffon. :hehe:

Trezeguet pfftt. He won't start any more. Del Piero is coming back on form. Best I've seen from him for a couple of years now. Amauri was a great buy and I reckon he could finish top scorer for Serie A bar Zlatan. Giovinco will play a pivotal role in which he'll shine I predict.

He's coming to Utd... . It's sad he never reached his full potential. He would have a greater legend than Baggio in my opinion.

I think some journalist is bored and wants to grab peoples attention. He certainly grabbed ours. In reality Del Piero will never leave Juve and will retire there.

Looks like David Carney's had a "Webber moment".

Carney blasts Blades boss
Brought to you by
12 September 2008 | 06:53 - SBS EXCLUSIVE

David Carney has swapped the euphoria of Tashkent for a likely bust-up at Bramall Lane after declaring he doesn't want to play for Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell anymore because his tactics are 'horrible'.

After just 13 months with the Blades, Socceroos wideman Carney appears to be heading for the exit door, citing irreconcilable differences with a coach whose methods leave him cold.

Any chance of an unlikely rapprochement all but disappeared when Carney touched down in England after an 18-minute cameo as a replacement for Mark Bresciano in the crucial 1-0 World Cup win over Uzbekistan, and said: "I really don't want to play for him (Blackwell) any more.

"He's a horrible man to play for, tactically he's terrible - it's just all about the long ball.

"I'll have a talk with him this weekend and hopefully get out on loan to a club that suits my style better.

"If I changed my style to suit him then I probably wouldn't get picked for the Socceroos anymore.

"He came and saw me play for the Socceroos and told me he didn't like the way I played for them, so what can you do?

"It's not a good situation. I wanted to leave at the end of last season and told him so.

"And going to the Olympics probably didn't help my cause with the boss."

After making 25 appearances in his debut season for the Championship side, the former Sydney FC flier has been sighted just once in six games so far this term - and that was in a League Cup tie.

And after his no-holds-bared assessment of Blackwell's credentials and methods, it's difficult to see him adding to that tally any time soon.

Just in case there was any ambiguity, Carney added: "I don't think he (Blackwell) will ever take Sheffield United to the Premier League or coach at that level. He doesn't have the brains or the ideas to do it in the top flight.

"He belongs in the lower leagues - but I don't belong there with him."
The technically adept Carney is uncertain which direction the compass might point for him.

"I'd like to stay in England," he added. "But I will have to go somewhere that suits the way I play. I think there will be a few changes for me in the next few months - hopefully anyway."

While desperately unhappy at his club, he is on a high for his country, despite losing his first-team spot to full-back Scott Chipperfield.

"I welcome the competition with Chippers, he has great experience and he's sheer quality," he added.

"I'll just have to bide my time and hopefully learn off him along the way.

"I'm happy with that, I'm still young (24) and hopefully have a few years ahead of me now with the national team."

And Carney's assessment of the victory in Tashkent?

"It was a great win, we would have settled for a draw going into the game," he admitted.

"They are a decent side, second half they came at us and we did well to hold on.

"If we win all our home games and get odd draw away now, we'd be basically through.

"At the back we were excellent, that's what kept us in it."

Carney sees little prospect of a dropping of the guard against Qatar on October 15 at Suncorp Stadium.

"We've beaten them twice already this year (in World Cup qualifying) and I see no reason why we should slip up next month," he added. "I feel we're in pretty good shape, although a lot can still happen over the next seven qualifiers."

EDIT after full time

Followed football most of my life, i support Derby County :hehe: and to a much lesser extent Arsenal. I quite like watching tennis (another Federer fan), as well as MMA (mixed martial arts - stuff like the UFC). Oh, and i'll usually watch the Tour de France.

Football, Sheffield United fan.

Hah, think you'll win on saturday?

Well we have a habit of "ending an opponent's bad run" and Derby haven't half had a bad run. If James Beattie's back from his injury I'd guess we have a good chance. At least Michael "run around like Stan Laurel" Tonge has gone now to Stoke and we've got a nice decent return on him.

Heh, hopefully you'll do us the same favour as you've done others then. Maybe Hulse will actually play well against his old club!!

P.S without sending this thread ridiculously off topic, was it you who sold us Claude Davis for 3m? :banghead:

See what I mean about us ending other teams' "bad runs"? Whoever made the decision to sell Hulse made the STUPIDEST DECISION EVER MADE!! Worse than the stewards' decision to penalise Hamilton. And if the decision was made to sell Hulse just so we could bring Henderson in, that is even worse. I know Henderson scored tonight but he has not impressed me, Hulse will score more goals than Henderson this season. :banghead:

If you get promoted, it'll be thanks to Hulse and Henderson will probably only get 2 more or so. You've got yourself a quality player there, I can still remember 2 years ago when he scored the opening goal against Liverpool at Bramall Lane when we almost humiliated them until Rob Styles and the diving git Gerrard decided to ruin the day. If only that stupid moron Bryan Robson hadn't rushed him back into action so quickly he might have done better for us last season.

Ah, smug mode. :P

1.75m seems alright business for us, now he's got a goal (and now we've won) he should progress, as should the team as a whole. Did you watch it on sky? I must say you guys didn't look too great today - although you were away and there were moments where some of your players showed their quality, i was also justifiably concered with your players beating our offside 'trap', which was such a close call sometimes.
