Very well said. :yes::yes:

I have another thought on this. Just supposing it was all Lewis' decision to lie and he told Ryan to agree with him. Then as a senior manager Ryan's behaviour was very poor. Lets continue on this assumption. Lewis asked Ryan to lie(despite just telling the press the opposite), but anyway they continue with this until sommoned again to the stewards. At this point whether they were aware before or not you can be damn sure McLaren top brass were aware now of the situation. So they go into damage limitation mode. Now who is the most expendable? A guy fairly close to retirement in a management position or a world champion top line driver??? This is no disrespect to Ryan, his abilities or his loyalties. Its common sense. This is big business not a Sunday school picnic. So they make their decision. Pay Ryan off and try to limit the damage.

Now to Lewis. People say he has not been punished enough and he should take more blame. What do you suggest he does?.Goes to the FIA and asks to be suspended? Refuses to take any more points this season? McLaren wouldnt let either of those things happen because he's the only one at the moment able to score any points for them.

I don't get it. You're happy to throw a man whose been with McLaren, with (By most accounts) a spotless record, for decades to the wolves whether it was his idea or not, but Lewis Hamilton gets a free pass because he claims he was misled (Once again, what does that mean? He knew what happened because he did it) despite a history of defying the team for his own ends?

Your lack of compassion for Dave is as insidious as your inability to accept that Hamilton did wrong.

Not a McLaren fan, but a Lewis fan. That pretty much answers every question you will ask her regarding Dave Ryan.

You both miss the point entirely :rolleyes: Im putting the viewpoint from MCLAREN not myself. Im incredibly sorry for Ryan as I would be if Lewis had been suspended. Both were in it . Both did wrong and MCLAREN took the decision to limit damage by suspending Ryan.
My own personal perspective Ive stated time over, but my own perspective is irrelevant here.

Yes I am formost a Lewis fan, whats wrong with that? Ive never claimed any different, but McLaren are also my favourite team.

If it was Hamilton's intent to lie than why didn't he start lying as soon as he got out of the car? Why would he have told the truth to the press and then change his story in front of the stewards? He changed his story after his team talked to him before the meeting with the stewards. If Hamilton Lied because he thought it was a good idea, than why would he be so unhappy with team management right now? I'd think he'd be rather happy with them for picking someone else to take the fall.

By that logic Mclaren should have suspended Hamilton then?
I mean that wouldn't be a big blow anyways seeing as the team languish near the back at this moment. Maybe replacing him with De la Rosa for a few races will maybe teach him some respect.

Repeatedly stating McLaren's reason for throwing Dave to the wolves does not make it okay. Lewis deserves to be punished equally, whether that means lowering Dave's or increasing Lewis's to match doesn't matter. But Lewis is getting a free pass here, and he's having the cheek to play the victim. It's completely reprehensible.

Enough of this twoddle. Nobody is saying it was Lewis's idea.

Then if he did not want to lie, he should not have done so. And after that, he had four days to come clean about it. It's quite clear that he felt no remorse for what he had done to Trulli.

Hamilton had to wait 4 days for his PR people to come up with a good speech for him! :rolleyes:

I really canot follow this logic. Having shot themselves in the foot once you think McLaren should do so again by taking hamilton out of the race seat??

He needs to fire them then, because it wasn't very good. He didn't actually apologise and claimed he was misled (Which makes no logical sense given the fact that he was the one who performed the disputed action, namely letting Trulli past).

It was essentially the equivalent of the schoolboy crying to the headteacher "Please don't punish me sir...I didn't mean no harm sir...An older boy told me to do it sir".

Pitiful. Absolutely pathetic.
