Well, first, I think that Hamilton's driving at the start was scandalous. He completely cut up Kovalainen and could have collected several cars. Yeah, he didn't hit anybody, but that is not the point. He could well have done so. I don't know what he was thinking. Massa's driving was absolutely reprehensible. He deliberately took out Hamilton - shades of Prost c. 1989 - and should count himself lucky he only got a drive-through penalty. His attempt to "overtake" Bourdais was also a disgrace and he passed Webber outside the track, so he must get a five or ten-place grid penalty next weekend.

Overall, it was a shocking weekend for McLaren. Winning the race and having another car on the podium was a real possibility, but that was ruined by Hamilton's moment of madness and a very rare technical failure with Kovalainen's car. I can't remember the last time a McLaren broke down. Probably sometime in 2006! What's worse is that Kovalainen has already used his engine "joker", so will be getting a ten-place penalty next weekend. The only saving grace is that - if the stewards do their job correctly - Massa will be getting a five or ten place grid penalty for "racing" today. It's almost worth putting de la Rosa in one of the cars to avoid Kovalainen's penalty, for it's getting squeaky-bum time in the constructors' title.

Raikkonen had another poor weekend. He showed flashes of pace, but was again completely inconsistent - even factoring in his tyre problems. He also showed a distinct lack of invention in trying to pass Kubica. Ferrari's pit stops are still sloppy. Raikkonen missed out in getting by Kubica in the pits because the fuel hose got stuck again.

Alonso was driver of the day by a million miles. He just oozed class today. His kept it together in the first lap and his times were truly fantastic. He's definitely the best all-round driver on the grid. The more I see of him this season the more I wish he were still at McLaren. That way the constructors' title would have been dead and buried. Also in terms of Renault, Piquet had a decent weekend. His race pace wasn't bad. It's a pity he made that mistake towards the end of the race, but it probably would not have affecting his final position thinking about it.

Another guy who had a good weekend was Bourdais. He's started to show some promise in the second part of the season. I think he's saved his seat for next year.

I'd agree that Webber was a bit silly, as Massa would have caught and passed him whether it was then, a couple of corners time, or the same place on the next lap. However you can't tell a racer not to race, even if they are in a slower car. The day a racer stops trying to overtake or defend for position is the day they should give up.

The incident itself, though silly, was a perfectly legitimate defence from Webber - he only moved across the track once to squeeze Massa, although it being a long and drawn out move across. Technically Massa did go off the track, as well as cross the white line of the pit exit (which is another infringement), however as I don't believe Hamilton's penalty was correct, neither do I think Massa should be penalised as a degree of common sense should be used (something that has been in the bin in recent times in F1!). nobody was hurt, or even really in any danger of being hurt, the pit stops had all finished, and the pass was clean.

I HATE penalties being given purely on 'technicalities'!

Well it isn't going to happen. Just like Lewis Hamilton never got his win back in Belgium. And there is no reason to penalise Massa further. He got his drive through for the incident with Lewis Hamilton. The one with Boudais dosen't warrent one and Massa's pass on Webber perfectly legit. And you know it is a legit pass so don't start me....

You are blind. Bourdais had nowhere to go. He had the inside line. Massa left him no room and caused the accident. He should have waited his turn. He was completely off the circuit when he overtook Webber. This is not allowed and was one of the reasons cited as to why Hamilton was penalised in Belgium. He must be penalised with at least a five-place grid drop next weekend.

Overall I surprisingly happy with the outcome because nobody was involved in a serious accident, it is also very nice to see Renault making progress by leap's and bound's and that the title hunt is down to just two race's.

Also I was not trying to be offensive or disrespectful to other member's opinion's/belief's concerning the kaos that took place in the race, just thought I would let ya know.

I'm tired, I have a headache because I am tired, and even though I am tired as lack of sleep as made me tired, I have to go to work soon which will make me feel very much so tired. Everyone is still asleep because they are tired, and then theres tired me who cant go to bed even though she is tired!
