I think Ferrari is hoping for Alonso and Kubica line-up in 2010.

Haha. We'd see fireworks there for sure. But what a potentially stupendous lineup that could be.

Perosnally, I think Kubica to Ferrari is more probable. No idea why I think that. Plus Renault could be very competitive next season. If BMW have put this season to good use in developement then we we'll have 4 strong teams. Always a welcome change from the usual tussle just between McClaren and Ferrari.

hahaha There's NO more future for Alonso. With his ARROGANT attitude and being BIAS and ANTI-McLaren. The truth inside Alonso's heart is, " McLaren kick him out and focus on Hammy. He can't accept that this NEWBIE Hammy is to fast for him. The bad part is HE CAN'T ACCEPT IT." hahahahhhaha

I love Renault and it's my favorite team until this ARROGANT ALONSO came in.

I think he'll stay and then move to whichever team appears to do best in the '09 season - it's entirely possible that Honda and Force India could be fighting for the title! :hehe:

No, it's not.

Wow, what a brilliant argument, you really made your point well

Honda have put so much effort in to next season's car and the KERS system that it's entirely possible they will have made more progress than the other teams, no?

Maybe but KERS, in it's first year, does not guarentee an improvement especially when one's chassis is junk, no?

Yep, although it seems Honda's problems stem from the aerodynamic inefficiency of their car - something that will be 'reset' next year with the rule changes.

As for Force India - anything's possible! The field is so tight, once they get their seamless shift gearbox on the go they are set to gain about 4 tenths a lap. A pretty massive gain huh? That could easily put them in near the top half of the grid, and like a said, the rules can easily shake things up! I never denied that it is unrealistic, just said it was entirely possible. :)

I'd say it is just theoretically possible - and that is some stretch. They don't have money, expertise, facilities... pretty much nothing they need (in proper amounts) to challenge top.

They could get better and maybe challenge mid fielders on some odd occasions (other people having accidents, surprise rain etc) but that's about it.

Yea, it does seem like a pipe-dream, but during one of the races this year, maybe in France, local TV coverage, TSN, the guys were talking about this as a possibility.

:hehe:

i dunno Fernando will be 29 by 2010 i think Ferrari would rather look to either Kubica or Vettel by then so they can get a good long spell from a driver.

Saying that i think Fernando will race well into his 30's so i could be wrong

Ferrari had good go with MS who was already "old" driver when he started collecting his titles for Ferrari... so I think they will not have any issue with older driver as long as he is proven. Which Alonso is...

Smart move

I agree with you.

In a way, every team is starting over in 2009 ...just because of the new regulations.
The team know's him and vice versa, so it could be a strong line -up for 2009!
He would win extra respect ... that's for sure. :)

I cannot agree with that because Alonso has proven he cannot be trusted and only care's about himself over everything else. His reputation, imho, as a man of honor, honestly and fair play has been severly damaged and although I have never disputed his skill in a racecar I will not ever respect anything about him or his accomplishment's after last year.

Isn't that a bit harsh? We still don't know all the details about McLaren's "civil war" last season...

I'm not saying Alonso is a saint by default, but I'd like to know all the facts & details before making my opinion...

I made that decision upon what I know concerning the event's of last year and it's only my opinion and is not written in stone. Alonso is a fabulous driver and I have never discredited that but I do have a few ethical issue's with his action's, but hey this is F1 so who doesn't right?

From F1 Live:

Fernando Alonso says he is now '99 percent sure' which team he will race for in the 2009 season.

The former champion's forthcoming plans have been the subject of intense speculation, with rumours this year hinting at deals with Ferrari, Toyota, BMW, Red Bull, Honda, and even Toro Rosso.

But with it now almost certain that he will stay put at Renault at least next year, the Spaniard has scheduled an announcement for some time during or after next weekend's season finale in Brazil.

"I am 99 percent sure what I am going to do," he said in interview with the Dutch magazine Formule 1 Race Report.

"Just after Brazil, everyone will know," he added.

It is still suggested that Honda might be his destination for next year, but in the interview Alonso seemed to hint that the reports of a renewed tenure at Renault are right.

He insisted that while his Singapore victory was the result mainly of luck, "there was no safety car in Japan."

"Nobody can deny that we were simply fast there," Alonso said of his win at Fuji Speedway.

"From the middle of the season we knew what our problems were with the car, and now it appears that our work has paid off."

Toro Rosso in 2009?? Alonso would be mad if he went there especially as it looks like Toro Rosso won't get the full Adrian Newey and Geoff Willis designed RBR5 chassis if the rules about customer cars are enforced. Even if Vettel was still driving for Toro Rosso next year he would probably not be able to pull off another win like he did at Monza.

I think he will stay with Renault.

Although I would love to see him with Honda.

Honda has too much $$$ not to be very good, so I see them bouncing back big time next year.

Alonso and Barrichelo line up would be very good.

alonso has the skill to be driving for mclaren or ferrari but he hates hamilton and ferrari already have two good drivers so BMW seems to be best option

Barrichello has been driving better this season. That's what I made my statement on, it's not that I don't like Button, he pretty good.
