Question about the last 10 laps...I know Alonso came into the pits just before the last SC. Did Lewis come in then? Or did he just make 2 stops for this race?

Lewis didn't pit again,he pitted later than most,so he still had some tyre life left,he also had some floor damage, why does his misfortune happen when he's leading, seems to be common theme nowadays

That's still bloody brilliant since he was harassing Fernando who had tyres which were like 12-13 laps newer. Mercedes need to be primed for a 1-2 at their home GP next week, it can totally happen!

Nico Rosberg revealed that he suffered a tyre failure en-route to victory in the British Grand Prix but was able to pit before being affected.

The race was notable for four tyre failures as Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Sergio Perez and Jean-Eric Vergne all suffered problems with their left rear tyres. Rosberg said that he was concerned his race would be affected too but said he was lucky to be able to pit before a puncture exploded in the same manner.

"To have that pace in the race - we were quick - but it was such a difficult race with the tyre failures it was so worrying," Rosberg said. "Every little vibration that you get you think 'Ah no, it's happening for me now and I've got a tyre problem too' but I just got lucky that I got back to the pits before it exploded."

Wow...how could an F1 tyre manufacturer get things so bloody wrong. To be honest, even Michelin's USA debacle is nothing compared to this one. This was horrendous in terms of safety, we had a few cars on the 'brink' of punctures..if you add up the total of race punctures + on the brink, it's almost half the grid.

Anyone catch Gary Anderson's post-race analysis of the Turn 4 kerbs? The way they're styled in quite a sharp way.... interesting. Poses issues for the tyre when mounting them at high speed.

You're going to believe that fool? The kerb was unchanged from last year. Problem with the BBC is they look the other way. Which is another reason why Sky > BBC

Yeah, what would he know? He was not alone on the BBC in his view.

Ultimately, the cars shouldn't be riding the kerbs. Problem solved.

How long have you been watching F1 Andrew....? And how many of those years have the cars ridden the kerbs?

Blaming the kerbs is :bs: in my opinion (and the opinion of the guys on Sky), and I wouldn't be surprised if Pirelli used it as an excuse to save face.

I can't see how Pirelli could use anything but the truth as an excuse here. I would expect all the teams will have their own engineers looking into these failures independantly from Pirelli.

As Ross Brawn said, we have to wait until an investigation has been conducted before any changes can be made.

LOL...cars shouldn't be riding kerbs, another quote worth framing for a hearty laugh. What are kerbs for genius, decorations?

Good, so we agree then, that it seems unlikely to be a kerb issue.

The white line denotes the edge of the track. Running over teh kerbs exceeds the confines of the track. Laugh all you like but it is ture.

Erm, no.

Emmm, no.

Oh. An easy mistake for me to make I suppose, when you forget to address the issue we are discussing, and change direction of discussion.

As you were.

OH NO! Let's investigate the dude who didn't lift his foot for a millisecond and ignore the 4 tyre blowouts which almost killed a driver today.
