I think the track played a huge part in the borefest today. How often do we see an exciting Barcelona GP? This track should just be used as a winter testing track and shoved off the calendar along with Valencia...even Bahrain and Abu Dhabi deliver way better races with Pirelli's shenanigans.

"Ok Lewis, rear left is reaching the limit of grip," he is told on the radio. "I cannot drive any slower," comes the response.

This tyre circus has got to stop...

It's pathetic. Tyres :banghead: tyres :banghead: tyres :banghead: " don't defend" " I can't go any slower" what is this???

Ohhhh blah blah blah I knew all this would crop up when Merc once again revealed their massive incompetence.

The tyres are the same for all the teams. Some teams can cope, others clearly can't. Their problem, not Pirelli's. :yawn:

I think we're looking at a masterful strategic attempt from the mercs... Have some patience.

Hm :scratchchin::-P

Ahhh we've all been there, we've all been there... :wink:

Yes its the same for all, crap for all. Yes some teams are better at managing the tyres, but I don't want to watch cars managing tyres, I want to watch them racing hard. And that would be my view where ever the Mercs were. I've moaned about these tyres all season and the Mercs have done reasonable until today. Hearing drivers ask if hey should defend, ask if they should attack, be told to lift round corners, report that they can't drive any slower...that's not the pinnacle of Motorsport. Today's race was boring.
Alonso did well, but how much better to have seen him battling Kimi for that win instead of running his own little tyre preservation programme.....that's said Ferrari's were about the only team who did put on some sort of attempt at pushing.

Sad to see Perez relegated to the back of the class so soon after his brave display. To be expected though.

Ohh all this tyre stuff gets blown wayyy out of proportion. If Kimi's Lotus had been fast enough, or if he hadn't have been held up by the Mercs and Massa, they you may well have seen Alonso having to fight for the win. As it was, it never happened.

I'm thankful for the tyres and DRS. Because without them, this race would've been a lot worse. Was this race worse than what Barcelona has often produced in the past? No.

It was as bad and it wasn't racing, it was false. Those tyres aren't fit to make washing up gloves out of.

RC, if you want a dose of 'real racing' try some of the Aussie racing series....full throttle, contact racing brilliant stuff.

Well you know what. I've been going to Silverstone for the last 16 years. I've seen some great races and some poor ones, seen my drivers fighting for the win, winning and trailing round near the back, seen periods of rule change, periods of domination by a team, seen boring qualifying sessions, but never have I ever thought of not going till now. I've paid for this year, but if watching cars dawdle round the track on pieces of shredding poo continues, then I'm not paying to watch it. I will be voting with my feet. Never thought I'd hear myself say that because Silverstone is the highlight of my year.

I'll give it a try, where do you watch it? I love the BTCC and the motoGP.
