Honda, BMW, Fiat, Renault, Mercedes.

Manufacturers in F1, not out of it. Honda/BMW/Fiat dont qualify, Fiat owns Ferrari that's it....Renault makes those clios or smth, look like some tiny hybrid matchboxes, do they actually do sedans?? :hehe:

Renault owns 43% of Nissan (Nissan holds 15% of Renault). Nissan produces nice sedans and even nicer Infiniti cars.

But ugly none the less.

Look who's talking: Porsche-Beetle driver :hehe:

Great marques bring great comparisons? :P

Btw, I nearly got this as my first car...before settling for this model's biggest rival:

I love the interior and its reputation for bullet proof reliability...they were actually used as workhorses in Germany to help move huge construction pieces. But settled for the E34 since this car has a bit too much 'old man' look and I didn't want to be 'foreveralone' during my bachelors. :D

As much as i am looking forward to Porsche in LMP1, that is far from 'likely' given the current state of play there...!:whip:

You omit Toyota at your peril... they've destroyed Audi in most recent WEC events. I guess i'm a little more neutal than you but i still can't freaking wait until Porsche rock up though, i really can't. It's gonna be one hell of a machine (like all manufacturer LMP1 cars are i suppose!) :D

Has a decision for 2013 been made by Peugeot? The announcement to pull out was a bit nebulous and left the door very open for a near term return. Wonder if you'd heard anything.

Rosberg 'convinced' he'll be competitive against Hamilton

Nico Rosberg is convinced he will be competitive against Lewis Hamilton when the British driver joins him at Mercedes next year.

Hamilton has signed a three-year contract that will start in 2013, reuniting the two drivers who were team-mates in karting in 2000. Since then, Hamilton has won the world title and 20 grands prix compared to Rosberg's single victory in China earlier this year, but the current Mercedes driver is not worried about the challenge he will face next year.

"There's no concern, I'm pleased he's joining the team and it's a new challenge for me," he told ESPN. "And yes, he's one of the best out there so it's going to be very interesting going up against him. But again, I'm convinced that I'll do well and we'll see how he goes."

Rosberg is also hoping Hamilton's arrival will breathe a new lease of life into the team.

"I'm very confident, the team is really progressing well and we have a lot more employees who have joined the team this year and they're very clever people that are going to have an impact now - slowly but surely and especially for next year. I'm sure we are going to do even better and then also with Hamilton joining the team, that's going to be a good boost for everybody and I think it's a nice change and refreshing, which is good."

Over the past three seasons, Rosberg has beaten his seven-time world champion team-mate Michael Schumacher on points and he believes that has been important for his career.

"I've been pleased with how I've compared against him," he added. "I didn't really know what to expect in the beginning, but I knew I was going to do well, but how I compared to him I had no idea. Now in hindsight to have beaten him in three years in a row, I'm very pleased. It's been important for my career, definitely."

People expect Hamilton to easily beat Rosberg but I'll never be convinced till I see it. Rosberg might appear inconsistent at times but maybe he didn't need to raise his game too much with Old Man Michael simply crashing into people and never threatening him in the WDC standings. It will be a completely different test for Rosberg in 2013, a year where he could prove himself to be a real star or just another solid journeyman.

It's a difficult comparison with Schumacher who has definitely not been on the form of his younger self in his comeback and how far off is impossible to guage. I have no idea how I rate Rosberg so next year's going to be interesting.

I think that Rosberg will match and push Hamilton; I don't think he has been inconsistent at all; he pretty consistently bring the car home in 6th - 10th places when not being taken out of the race, usually through no fault of his own. Plain and simply, 6th to 10th is where Mercedes are this season, after their win in China, it has been all down hill, like Mercedes stood still while everyone else moved ahead! For Lewis' sake I hope that Mercedes can keep up with the development race next season or we could see Lewis fighting for the minor points next season!
