Seems funny really..............New personnel at Mclaren this year isn't there? One Sam Michaels........ just look at his track record, years at Willaims and they got no-where, in fact they go backwards. So they get rid of him and the team and car suddenly head in a forward direction. He goes to Mclaren, this his first year, and guess what, Mclaren start to go backwards?????? 2+2 = ???

Sam has had a far more lustrous history than you make out, he was with Williams during the height of their dominance too don't forget.

What was his position when Williams was 'at the height of their dominance'...and did they even win any Championships during these so called 'heights'?

All I remember about this team is that Patrick Head moved away from Technical Director position...and our Hero took over, from there Williams never saw a win or even podiums again, until Maldo brought them a win in Spain. By this time of course, our Hero had jumped ship to beloved McLaren to f**k it all up as well.

Nah, it all goes pretty quiet when McLaren do well. Or Jenson Button. I was going to praise Button in the thread which takes after his name, but after what's gone on before there, and bud's subsequent departure, I feel it's best to leave that thread alone.

bud's departure?

Anyway, no one really cares about quickest pitstops in history, we just want quick consistent stops at every race. It looks like they've got past their 6-7 race pitstop horror time...maybe the drivers can enjoy good pitstops till the end of the season. Needn't break records, just matching Ferrari and Redbull is enough.

The Lewis Loonies, as he has Christened them, seem to have chased out one of the longest serving members.

According to his profile, last visit - 18 July, last post - 5 July, location - not here.

Hasn't posted for nearly a month. Removed his avatar and declared his absence on his profile. Looking at his last posts, he was growing disgruntled with what was going on in some threads, especially the Jenson Button / Sam Michael / McLaren related threads. Hasn't returned since.

Oh. Well, he's not missing much anyway...couple of podiums here, couple of punctures there...I don't mind taking a vacation from F1 myself. This year is pretty much a goner anyway for any McLaren/Lewis fan. Button still has a chance though, so maybe he'll win the WDC this year.

Turning off when your team aren't doing well? Where's your sense of honour man.

Turning off the hope of a WDC basically. I'd still be watching races when I'm free. :)

At Hockenheim McLaren looked the fastest team in the dry. So now the boot's on the other foot and it's other teams that need to catch up.
