Apparently it has been raining at the circuit this morning. Does anyone know more about that?

No. But that's good....hopefully it washed off all the rubber on the racing line and we will have equal starts for everyone. :P

I saw a tweet about it, I think it just the occasional drop, but it is cooler which could play a huge role in the race.

This is my first post so be gentle :wavey:

Quite dissapointed with Kimi's qualifying, should have went out for a second run but hindsight is a brilliant thing. Lotus seem to be doing no favours for Kimi. Every decision they have in terms of stragety, or going out for a second run in qualifying has cost him badly. The positive thing is that they cannot ruin Kimi's race more than they have in China.

The stragety will have to be tyre wear. Who can manage the tyres through qualifying and on race day, who can get the maxinium performance from the tyres and who can keep the tyres in good condition without them degrading.

I think Hamilton to win today, while Vettel did a great lap to get pole, I feel that the Mclarens have the additional speed, plus they have the car set up for race day. Judging from what Red Bulls have shown so far this season, they'll have decent speed but I think the Mclarens will just have a little more. Plus I don't want to see that Vettel's f***ing finger again :banghead: .

Will be intresting to see Michael Schumacher starting from the back today and seeing how big of an advantage that the DRS system will give him. I can see him finishing 7th-8th, even with the extra 5 place grid drop. Tyre degradation will be quite interesting to watch because I fully expected tyre wear to give the Mercedes big problems in China, I was wrong. But Bahrain the conditions are much different, it is hot, humid and tyres will be at a lot higher temperate, with dust blowing over causing the tyres to get dirty. But it looks like it might rain today along with cooler temperatures which might be a surprising twist for today.

Anyway, it looks like it might be an exciting race.

Welcome, we'll be gentle :)
Thats a great first post. I agree Kimi has the potential to be better than his results show at the moment. Getting the strategy right and maybe Kimi getting more used to the traits of these pirelli tyres. The tyres are ruling things at the moment. Kimi's a quick learner so be cool to see wha he can do today.
I hope you're right with who you've picked to win :D

So from this post I decipher you dislike Vettel, don't have a problem with Hamilton, and a big fan of Kimi?

Raikkonen should be alright, the race pace is generally pretty good and has been comparable to any car on the grid, so i hope for a top 6 today, that is very plausible. :) Just gotta stay out of trouble in those first couple of turns...

Ive got him 7th in my prediction list, got Alonso just above him, but it could easily be the other way round.

Thanks for the Welcome all. I was browsing the forum before I signed up but I thought this particular forum has the most banter and in depth discussion.

Thank you :wavey:

I guess you support Mclaren.

Yes, I'm a huge Kimi fan. All hail the Iceman. I only support the best driver on the grid :hehe:

Thank you :wavey:

I think the better question is - who acutally likes Vettel? :hehe:

He's brilliant in terms of his driving ability, but I find he's too big for his boots at times and it got quite boring watching Vettel dominate.

Kimi would always take time to adjust to the tyres and the feel of being back into a F1 car, but he has done well in some of his performances. China his tyres lost all grip, but that wasn't all his fault. I think that was Lotus' fault too.

I certainly am hoping for a Hamilton win today (well a Kimi win more but I'm not quite drunk enough to think that at this time) and I think he has the car to give him this.
