Management styles differ in F1, just like in any business.
You have to find the style that fits the objectives and the
team you have assembled. Actually, that's basically the
same in the education system and most governments.

Ferrari are arriving in Montreal, for the Canadian Grand Prix weekend with a heavily revised F14T which Italian media are calling ‘Version-B’.

Autosprint are reporting that the race at the circuit named after Ferrari’s favourite son, Gilles Villeneuve, is the do-or-die race for the team’s 2014 programme. A successful weekend would mean that the team will continue to focus on their current campaign, while another below par race will trigger full focus on the 2015 car.

Maranello have confirmed that they are taking substantial updates to Canada which should give them a boost, but are keen to stress that all is dependent on what their main rivals unleash at the same time.

Perhaps the biggest news is that as per Luca di Montezemolo’s promises and as confirmed recently by James Allison, Ferrari will be using “aggressive” engine maps to take more effective advantage of the electric charge of the MGU-H energy store and hence, in theory, should provide more power for Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen.

It has emerged that the turbo on the Ferrari power unit is too small, and the size thereof cannot be changed during the course of this season. Thus all efforts, ahead of the race in Canada, are focussed on improving other elements of the unit, which have included fuel tweaks made by Shell.

It has also been found that the F14T is unstable during load transfers, a problem which has been traced to the floor of the car, which has been updated with the goal of stabilising and maximising the efficiency of air flow under the car.

Much of the new development parts may not find their way on to the car for race day, but whatever the case the Ferrari drivers will be working hard for their wages on Friday in Montreal to get through what is set to be a packed evaluation programme. (GP247)

When using a team members name please get the spelling right and at least capitalize names properly. The name of Ferrari's new TP is Marco Mattiacci, if you are using tapatalk on mobile device perhaps abbreviate it to MM.

CF6 used a lot more words than I would of. My feelings is that Ferrari have for a while been scared of messing up so have not been innovative or taken technical risks for fear of failure. With Mattacici running things hopefully the fear of losing will go. Allowing leaps of faith and innovation.

To some extent Whitmarsh's Mclaren bred the same philosophy.

Sent using NCC-1701

I quoted a recent interview with James Allison elsewhere and he pretty much said exactly that. To come back from as far behind as the team is will take a long time, but a long journey begins with a single step. As long as the team shows steady improvement and that they are closing the gap I'd be satisfied.

I am not aware of any rules on this forum or any other or in any Country about correct spelling

Are you going to police spelling of every single name from now on?

Is this a personal request or a moderator action? This is unclear

I've called him the m&m man ( I didn't mean anything bad, like the sweets) in the past, the new Ferrari man, because his name is so hard to remember. If I want to write it in full I have to look it up every time. mind you I spelt Ricciardo's name wrong for ages. And I never got Jamie A right  I kept thinking Aguilara, but I knew it was wrong.

But surely history tells us that the same names always get pronounced and spelt differently by different people from different places over time. This is how names and words evolve. This is why you have Sebastien and Sebastian.

I am sure the only name I know without different versions is Adolf, and I think its obvious why

The French tried a campaign once to try and avoid people anglocising (anglozising?) French words, they even introduced a quota for radio stations of how many French words vs 'americanised' versions per hour. That went down well and was fairly humorous. I am not sure how they actually policed it, maybe thats why they have now moved on to more fun things - like banning the wearing of burkas (burhas?) or those black things muslems women wear (muslim?) now I am paranoid about my spelling

fun times ahead for all it seems with this latest rule change, maybe when we actually say these names from now we must speak with the correct accent as well to go along with capitalisation (capitalization?) and spelling
Or maybe we need to say MM as well. Maybe only when we are logged into the forum and not at the pub, because at my local pub I am not sure telling everyone they have to pronounce a name' correctly or else' is gonna go down too well

In North Korea you can get sent to prison for spelling the leaders name wrong.

I think all the executives of mobile phone companies rushed to disable all spell checkers on the phones they sell since that decree

I wonder if one could sue a mobile phone company if its spellchecker landed you in trouble for breaking the law. Obviously not the law on freedom of speech, but the laws that suddenly spring up all over the place. Maybe thats why Robert Maxwell topped himself - one of his papers spelt someones name wrong and he got depressed

It makes sense to police the spelling and capitalisation of names, but at the same time to allow incorrect statements, lies, libel and untruths to remain in threads

In moving to hybrid we are transferring from a plentiful and renewable fuel source (food for the ICE) to one of the rarest and most finite commodities on earth which is essentially only found in one location on the planet where people are forced to dig up those rare earths in slave labor conditions for 2 peanuts a day to make the shiny hybrids that salve the conscience of the sheep-public.

The move to this new F1-hybrid has nothing to do with being green or saving the planet or even about the renewable food for ICE's - its all about suiting some of the production car industry and making F1 suit their business model.

My 2 cents worth

yes this was posted over a month ago, and despite requests from several members for clarification, proof or any type of explanation, it remains. This is dumping on F1, the sport most of us love, from a great height.
ICE run on a plentiful and renewable source?
Hybrids are just to salve sheep like public?
F1 move to hybrid NOTHING to do with saving the planet?

So Mercedes and Renault and the FIA and Paddy Lowe and James Allison and Honda are all basically liars, and burning less fossil fuels does nothing for the planet - its all a big lie?

F1 have built this new hybrid and it was all a lie? nothing to do with the planet and all to do with their business model?

Really?

This post remains on the thread, the author refuses to retract, explain or even acknowledge it, yet we are meant to make sure our spelling is correct and capitalisation is in the right place when mentioning these same F1 liars?

Why dump constantly on F1 when it winds up those who spend a lot of time and effort following it, indirectly calling us deluded and sheeplike? Constantly telling us we cant enjoy what we see because its 2 seconds slower than last year?
