yep Alonso is in a class of his hown, piece of s*** driver.

Classic bud speak :whip: .

If there is such a journalist then I apologise and would be glad to read his contributions.

Sam Posey or Bob Varsha ring a bell? Although neither are 100% journo's only contributing journo's but both have been following/covering F1 for just as long as Hughes has if not longer and oh my one of them is a highly respected driver aswell. You are correct though about us yank's not having a proper F1 journalist but that is not our fault and does not mean we have no idea about F1.
I'll go ahead and send you your Christmas card just because:wink: .

So anywho back OT imho Lewis was not the #1 driver this past season but was in the top 5.

Uncle Tex.

You made me blush :hehe: .

So anyway lady's and gent's it would be nice if we, myself included  , could stop berating each others opinions and just talk about our beloved F1  ?

 now everyone lets be responsible this christmas! :hehe:

I doubt an American journalist would have the F1 facts, evidence and knowledge needed to write detailed articles about F1 every week. American series yes.

Now that is just an ignorant comment and one of the main problems with the forum as a whole. Honestly I cannot believe you said that and I was gonna send you a Christmas card :( !

I didnt mean any offence or disrespect by that. If you read the link I posted you'll see that M.Hughes has been involved with F1 for many many years. I doubt he could write as eloquently as an Amerian journalist on racing series that dominate in the US. There really is no F1 base in the US. If there is such a journalist then I apologise and would be glad to read his contributions.

You stamped yourself with class with that post RC - well done, I tips me hat to you

Any journalist can write. Thats the reason they are a Journalist!

What matters is if their opinions are worth anything. Mark Hughes is definitely biased.

If you took an American journo he would have a clearer opinion based on facts and evidence than Mark Hughes who writes mainly for the English public.

Well thats your opinion.
Any journalist can write yes, but not always write well.

I doubt an American journalist would have the F1 facts, evidence and knowledge needed to write detailed articles about F1 every week. American series yes.

And why would you doubt that? Its not like their isnt a Formula One following in the US, i mean we have plenty of American F1 fans on this forum to prove it! So its not like there is a lack of funding for them to travel to every race.

And thats pretty much all you need. To be at every race, inside the paddock and to be known. Why wouldnt an American Journo have access to that when living in Asia, we have plenty of Journos who do that.

Do you know such a journalist so that I could read some of his/her work and assess the quality?

The reason I doubt it is the depth of Knowledge and understanding one gets from being immersed in something for many many years, is greater than that of someone who just hops on a plane to watch a race.

So you claim that an American Journo is not able to possess such knowledge from experience?
This extract from an Autosport article might give you a little better understanding of why i claim autosport and Mark Hughes to be biased.

"Other categories include International Racing Car of the Year and International Rally Driver of the Year, while the evening ends with the announcement of the winner of this year's McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award, which will see one of six young British drivers chosen to receive the increased £100,000 prize and McLaren F1 test."

Im not sure what point you're making here?

That Mark Hughes is biased. Is my english that terrible that you cant follow my posts?

Thread should be labled: "Top F1 Expert who is trying to please British public so that they buy his magazines votes Hamilton no.1 for 2010".

Andrew Benson is pretty unbiased, in my opinion of course.

Massa moving over for him in Germany isn't indicative Alonso's a poor driver.

I agree with you and there are not many like him.

nobody said that, nobody implied that and nobody thought that, this and other topics are on whetjer he can be judged best ofnseason, so
stop crying and read the avtual posts (properly) it seems everyone that isnt an alonso fan will male constant digs at anything otherwise and alonso
fans make constant digs at anything likewise. alonso not only didnt won tje title
( for whatever reasons indont care so dont gimme excuses)
but he is undoubtesdly the most arrogant amd/or bad sporting driver in f1, if he wasnt the best driver on the grid hed be kicked out already, for those two reasons specifically he should not be no.1 neither should lewis before you undoubtedly turn this on
him like every othern time, rosberg, kubica, vettel or webber
should be top clearly.

Forget secret ballots and vested interests. Say it like it is!! Mark Hughes, technical expert and top writer for Autosport gives his top ten of the season. here it is

Ah Mark Hugues! where was he?? i kinda missed him for his ussual fiction after the last race. Really, i was expecting him to come up with some ways to put some blame on Schumacher and/or Alonso..... and of course, put Lewis at the top of some strategic or super driving feat......

Seems he was busy compiling this sci-fi top 10
