Yes you're naming these two guys who most Australians wouldn't have even heard of! Regardless if their surnames are Anglo they play a minority sport! But faggot? Real men play Australian football unlike your poofy little excuses for men flopping and acting like their bones are broken yet get up and play normally again!:P Biggest problem with soccer is lack of scoring and acting for free kicks, other than that I enjoy the game!

So who would you prefer to win the world cup, Italia or Slovenija ?

Italia of course. Io sono più italiana che slovena. (I'm more Italian than Slovene)

The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa this week. 'It is really good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible challanges.'..................................... said Jamal Omboto aged 6

Soooo don't think you've heard of the AFL rule where players who take dives are fined?? Look at Buddy Franklin, Chris Judd, and one Essendon bloke who are being investigated for diving after THIS AFL ROUND ALONE!!! If you don't like the game, don't bother commenting in the thread dedicated to the BIGGEST PARTICIPATION SPORT IN AUSTRALIA and more importanly the MOST POPULAR SPORT IN THE WORLD

You may be jealous of the coverage football is getting over the other so called football (where interestingly hands are used more then feet in both codes) at the moment. And it's gonna get bigger and bigger WHEN Australia get the 2022 WORLD CUP OF FOOTBALL!

I like both sports BUT I do prefer AFL (but if Brisbane Lions keep performing like this that could change :P We won our first 4 but from our last 9 games we've only won 1 game).

Football/Soccer is a simple yet technical game which is very skillful
AFL is tough, rough and speedy high pace game

Both sports are good (well better than Drugby League/Drugby atleast  )

Haha let me guess you're an Italian Australian? Wrong about it being the biggest participation sport and go through the thread before you comment mate AKR brought up the debate up until then I was talking about soccer!

And please you cannot compare a game that has tackling and hard hits to a sport where players act hurt! I'd like to see these soft soccer players play Rugby or Aussie Rules then see how long they'd last!

Definately not Italian Australian. Plain old Australian. One thing that bugs me about "Soccer" is the racial diversity Australia has when it comes to the sport. I remember playing for a particular greek club against a turkish club in Melbourne... Lets just say as a 16 year old I was scared at what was awaiting as after the game. I went through the thread but it seems you simply degrade "Soccer" for being a minority sport. Don't get me wrong I appreciate AFL for what it is... but as a neatural observer AFL players of late have been diving more than ever! And the point I brought up about 3 players being fined for diving was taken directly from todays AFL footy show.

See how long they last? Alot longer than you would think actually. How about you think before making stupid generalisations like that. If you knew the amount of core strength "Soccer" players had then you wouldn't be saying that. Not just muscle piled on but core strength. And if we're on for making harsh generalisations with no relevance I'd like to see Brendon Fevola sit in a grade 3 classroom. Being a fly on the wall in that class would be worth more than any stand up comedian could charge.

And Oh... Netball was the bigest participation Sport up until recently before PROPER FOOTBALL'S invlovment numbers soared. Do research on it and you'll be surprised. Trust me we get stat number at my "Soccer" club about the rate of growth the sport has had since 2006 and the levels of overall participation.

I apologise for coming off a little blunt, but I have to put up with being a "Soccer Fag" at least 4 times a week and it's time for the work of people such as Johnny Warren, Les Murray, Craig Foster and lately Paul Wade was more widely recognised.

Na not blunt, its all good we can get riled up form time to time
Ive posted about games of the cup actually maybe go back further! all things aside i do like Soccer, was brought up to follow the Glasgow Rangers but i prefer my own countries game, i find it more thrilling, more action more everything.
But ok you talk of 3 players that dive in Australian Football i can name 1000 that dive in Association Football :hehe: but i was more so referring to the antics of players getting bumped and acting like they got hit by a train, if they played Rugby or Aussie Rules they'd be getting bumped and tackled every time they had the ball, no time to pretend to be hurt!
still unsure of your claim ive researched it in the past and at a club level by playing members Australian Football has the most participants while Soccer lays claim to number 1 by juniors and social numbers ontop of club members to be! Alot of kids start out in Soccer cos their mums think its safer. AFL has the biggest attendances average crowds of 35k compared to 10k for the A-League, its a hard thing to change 150 years of tradition, back in the 90s Basketball had its hey day, but that was just a fad Soccer has a long way to go in this country before it becomes the main football code.

But anyway did you enjoy the game last night? we went into the city to watch it, its a good atmosphere with everyone wearing green and gold having a few bevvies or too many!!
