Here is my comment Bud. Scum United are just lucky Scumbags. What a waste of a trophy giving it to them on penalties. Waste, waste, waste. Scum United should be banned from international football along side Bindippers (Liverpool) FC, Inter (Clowns) Milan and Real Madrid. I hate all 4 of them. Oh and you can add Dinamo Zagreb to that as well as I support Hajduk in the Croatian league. Hell 2008 has been a s*** year in football. Inter wins Serie A, Real Madrid wins the Primers Liga, Man U wins both the EPL and flukes the Champions League and Dinamo Zagreb wins in Croatia. :(:(:(. Hopefully Zenit (The Russian Team and winner of the UEFA Cup against RANGERS HAHAHAHAHA) beats Man U in the European Supercup later this year and also in the World Cup for clubs that the South American team (Whoever tha may end upo being) beat Man U as well. And lastly this Saturday in the Italian Cup final hopefully AS Roma beat Inter Scumbag Milan. If all the wrong teams win it will prove 2008 as the crappiest year of football. Thats unless Italy or even Croatia win the Euros next month...............................................

Glory can only be achieved through the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Hajduk Split and ESPECIALLY FERRARI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forget the rest as they are all scum compared to the above.

Inter wins Serie A

8)

A nice consolation after York City finished 14th or something similarly horrific in the conference. Crikey.

Nice to see the Blades pick up a former employee of Jordan and Williams. :D

Blades sign up Farnan

A leading figure in international sports marketing who has been pivotal in the commercial success of Manchester United and the Jordan Formula 1 team has joined Sheffield United.

As Executive Director, Michael Farnan will drive the Blades marketing as the Championship club - which has major football partnerships in China, Hungary and Australia - looks to significantly develop commercial and sponsorship growth on the back of its international brand.

United PLC Chairman Kevin McCabe said: "Michael will be responsible for leading our commercial activities both nationally and internationally. He will be seeking to generate further commercial revenue and maximise returns from our worldwide family of sporting interests.

"He has a first class background in international and national sports marketing and his appointment demonstrates our commitment to continue to grow the business both on and off the field, home and abroad."

Dublin-born Farnan, aged 48, said: "Sheffield United has terrific potential. Under Kevin McCabe they are a club clear in their ambitions and aspirations.

"They have a brand unique in football today which was one of the reasons which attracted me to Bramall Lane. We have the heritage, the association with the oldest football club in the world (Sheffield FC) as well as future opportunities here in Sheffield and abroad in Europe, China, Australia and South America."

Mr Farnan was Managing Director of Manchester United International, responsible for the growth of the brand in Asia, the Middle East and Oceania where he oversaw hugely successful merchandise growth and was responsible for Manchester United opening retail stores across these continents. He had similar roles with Italian club AC Parma and leading Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

Besides football, Michael, who is married with three children, has been instrumental in securing sponsorship and licensing programmes for a number of Formula 1 teams including Jordan F1 and The Williams F1 team.

"I was approached by Eddie Jordan who was a close friend of mine to help him run Jordan F1. My role for Eddie was to raise over £60 million to keep the team running through the season whilst the main target was to sell the team to a car manufacturer or corporate."

Formerly with Sky Sports, Mike has worked on big sport sponsorship programmes alongside leading sports personalities Luis Figo, Patrick Veira, Nicolas Anelka, British open golf champion Paul Lawrie, F1 driver Jenson Button, boxers Ricky Hatton, Barry McGuigan, rugby union stars Keith Wood and Brian O'Driscoll and HRH Zara Phillips.

"It is impossible in football today to have success on the pitch without the financial backing to get there. Similarly it is impossible to have financial success without results on the pitch. Although success on the pitch drives everything a club is able to achieve financially, the commercial aspects of building a club are equally important as the building blocks of a successful team," added Michael
Mr Farnan will be working with Sheffield United's commercial manager Andy Daykin and counterparts in Hungary and China. He will be supported by Mike Hall-Taylor, who has previously worked as a marketing manager at Gallaher Group, managing the Benson & Hedges and Silk Cut brands, and worked across a wide range of sports sponsorships including cricket, golf and F1.

Man u won a goal kicking contest and they are champions.... thats what i dislike about soccer
golden goal no matter how long it takes is the only real way to find a winner in extra time in soccer where scoring is so damn hard

I was at a friendly between Melbourne Victory Vs Juventus FC (Played in Melbourne) and the score finished Melbourne Victory 1 - Juventus 4. It was a hammering by the Italian side and it wasn't even a full strengh. At least 8 of the big players were not there. Just shows that the level of European football is still streets ahead of Australian football. I would say the standard of A-League Football (A-League is the highest football League in Australia) is about the same level as Serie C1 in Italy. (Serie C1 is the 3rd division in Italy).

Sheffield United: European Champions (c.) 2014. :P

Haha, I wish. :P

I am tempted to copy your sig and put "Sheffield United, Premiership survival: 1993, 2007". Just to show that they would have survived the Premiership last season if those cheaters West Ham had been punished properly by the wimpy Premier League who said "It's too late in the season to deduct points as it would be hard on the fans.".

I would LOVE to see what the FIA would have done... or what the Premier League would have done if they were investigating Spygate.

Did anyone see the football friendlies played yesterday. Italy were losing 2-0 to Austria but managed to salvage a 2-2 draw. And England shared the same fate as Italy as they were also losing 2-0 to the Czech Republic but ended up finishing 2-2 as well. Spain I believe won as well as Germany. Can't remember exactly who they played but I think Spain had Belgium. And Croatia bet Slovenija 2-1...............pricks! :hehe: Soon the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup begin. Real games I guess. Italy has a relative easy group which was expected since we want the defending champions to actually qualify. The interesting thing is that England has Croatia in their group again. (Just like for the Euro 2008 qualifiers). Will the English get their revenge............................... That group will be very interesting for sure. :)
