It will be interesting to hear Bernie's response. If you ever had any doubts that a replacement series needs to be formed, the stewards decision against LH should erase them all.

That is simply a ludicrous idea. If one is so disturbed that it lead's one to quit watching then so beit but how could a replacement serie's REPLACE the real F1 regardless of the FIA's b/s?

The FIA/governing body need's overhauling not F1 as a race serie's.

I honestly wouldn't care. If teams pulled out of F1 to start their own series, and they had to call it something terrible like "the super fast car series" i would switch my attention to it over F1. Because the name "Formula 1" stinks to me now. What should be the pinacle of motor sport is a money making scam, and a joke.

I want to join the countless others in saying that I believe this is very stupid and disgracing. :ranting:

Hamitlon won this race fair and square  . He proved that he has nerves of steel and beat crappy Kimi.

Bud, racechick and McLaren Fan, I am very sorry and I am as mad and angry as you are. This goes beyond who you support. This is about the sports that we all love.

I was shocked when I went online and read the news. Come on, yes he cut him at the corner but he gave up his spot to Kimi right away. And what the :censored: ? Kimi crashed afterwards :curse: . So can anyone explain to me how Hamilton benefited from cutting the chicane!

I believe this is one of F1 lowest moments. :(

Stewards' justification:

It is believed that although the British driver let Raikkonen back through to the lead of the race after rejoining the track, stewards still felt he had benefited from going off track as he repassed the Finn almost immediately.

Just joined this forum so I could add my voice to the many others who are disgusted by this blatant attempt to fix the championship. Firstly, Hamilton gave the lead back to Kimi after only leaving the track to avoid a collision. Lewis then skillfully overtook a wildly erratic Kimi. Kimi then almost hit Hamilton, again forcing Hamilton off the track, and then subsequently spinning allowing Lewis back in front.

After deciding that Lewis gained an (arguable) advantage, the fia then pull this 25 sec. punishment out of their rear ends, conveinatly enough time to put Lewis behind Massa. (Why not a grid place penalty on the next race instead?) 8 points over Massa would allow Lewis to finish 2nd behind Massa in 4 of the next five races and winning the 5th to clinch the championship.

This blatant attempt to keep the last 5 races 'interesting' is going to really backfire on the fia. I can't wait to read the papers tomorrow.

I love it, F Hamilton F Mclaren, that was a scumbag move set up by Hamilton from the first second he realized he couldn't take the corner from Kimi. He took the pu$sy (dont censor me) way out to try and get an advantage over Kimi and let off just a bit to let him cross first but then got the drag back off of him! That was a pure class scumbag thought/move from Hamilton and he deserves this penalty, only shame is Kimi didn't finish to put that piece of s*** Hamilton back down to 4th.

This is absoloute bullpoo. This race had it all and Lewis deserves a little bit more respect. Fed up of people disrespecting him he is already a formula 1 legend. when Lewis cut that corner he gave that positon back to kimi and then lewis beat him on the breaks at the hairpin. The stewards really need to get there act togeather because this is spoiling an amazing sport. Lewis still for the championship he wont let this slip.

To be fair, the regs say that a drive-through penalty incurred near the end of the race will be translated into 25 seconds added on to the driver's time. So while I believe their DECISION was pretty arbitrary, the penalty was simply that laid down in the rules.

What really gets my goat is that Kovaleinen (rightly) got a penalty for causing an avoidable accident, and Hamilton effectively got his for actually avoiding an accident. What he supposed to do? "After you Kimi, force me of the track as much as you like dear boy" Oh come on. What Kimi did was good, tough, legal racing. What Lewis did was equally tough, and in my view equally acceptable. By the letter or by the spirit, I can't see how the stewards came to their decision, and while I can understand the conspiracy theories about bias I just think the stewards need their heads examined.

Nope, not a legend for a long time.

What else do you expect from a sport run by a morally corrupt son of a fascist? F1 doesn't listen to the sport's fans (can it be called a sport anymore?) join me in complaining to the F1 sponsors and see if we can hit them where it hurts.

I would think that you'd probably be better off targetting any of the German and Japanese manufacturers, in all honesty, seeing as you could at least use that 'facist' comment, along with Mosley's recent scandal, to get them irritated.

Last week - They didnt crash in the pit so no need to penalise.

That is inaccurate: a financial penalty of 10,000 Euros was imposed on Massa as a result of his pit-lane incident in Valencia. I think it was appropriate.

Why is it appropriate to only fine Massa when Bruno Senna was given a drive thru penalty for something similar in yesterday's GP2 race?

30.3 a) During practice and the race, drivers may use only the track and must at all times observe the
provisions of the Code relating to driving behaviour on circuits.

So, in theory, anybody who leaves the track should be penalised.

True, so what about Kimi a couple of corners later who used more or less all of the run off area to keep his foot flat to the floor and rejoin about half a second behind Hamilton.
