I agree with you.

In a way, every team is starting over in 2009 ...just because of the new regulations.
The team know's him and vice versa, so it could be a strong line -up for 2009!
He would win extra respect ... that's for sure. :)

I cannot agree with that because Alonso has proven he cannot be trusted and only care's about himself over everything else. His reputation, imho, as a man of honor, honestly and fair play has been severly damaged and although I have never disputed his skill in a racecar I will not ever respect anything about him or his accomplishment's after last year.

Davidson.

Man, I hope Tost and Berger see sense and give the lad a try over the winter testing period. God knows he's earned his place in the sport. And he'd be a far better choice than any of the GP2 bunch, to be honest.

The GP2 bunch are simply not up to standard, certainly at the minute. We've seen flashes of talent and a lot of raw ability, but this has to be refined; they are fast but have yet to become good Grand Prix drivers. Pantano, however, is a loser.

MMmh, yeah...I have to agree with you too on the part he's not the biggest teamplayer. But who know's...maybe he's changing ? :hehe:

ahh all drivers want the fastest car, what Alonso is doing is whats best for his future! theres no point being loyal to a team who is in the mid pack!

the only beef i have is that he supposidly brings 2 seconds...( oh yeah it gets larger at first it was 2 tenths) to his teams and one would think that he would have more respect with the team who got him his titles in the first place! why not stay with them and help them get back to their former glory? after loving and leaving them only to return on hands and knees for his old seat back i think he owes them a few good years to try and like i said reclaim Renaults status as a constructor champion race winning team!

The rumors won't die.
I would prefer SV or RK any day.
Alonso has shifty eyes.

Alonso's Ferrari move still on !
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/080923103214.shtml
The renewal of Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari tenure was announced recently at Monza, but the news has not stopped speculation about the future of the Italian team's lineup.

'Mediaset' a major Italian television network, is claiming this week that Fernando Alonso could still be poised to switch to the Maranello based team following next year's championship.

It is reported that Alonso, 27, has already signed an agreement, and that Ferrari will simply terminate Raikkonen's newly-announced deal with a small buyout.

'Mediaset'said the contract extension announced by Ferrari at Monza was the result of Raikkonen triggering a one-sided option in his current contract to renew for one more year.

The Finn's option, however, reportedly leaves the door open for Ferrari to pay a financial penalty and annul the contract.
'Mediaset' said Ferrari's unannounced new 2010 sponsor, Santander, could pick up the bill.

The rumour also ties in with rising speculation that Alonso is set to stay at Renault for another season in 2009, rather than switch to BMW-Sauber or Honda and then need to move yet again to Ferrari in 2010.

he should go to BMW to partner with kubica, a swap would work work, heidfeld for alonso, heidfeld would push the renualt engine further, or honda is another possibility as ross brawn is now boss and theyve got a good budget to work with but i guess we'll have to wait and see

Alonso to Ferrari rumours return
Wednesday 24th September 2008

Just when you thought the Fernando Alonso to Ferrari rumours were all consigned to the dustbin, along comes yet another story suggesting the deal is still very much on.

For most of the season the paddock was awash with claims that Alonso will join Ferrari at the end of 2009. Some even suggested the move could take place at the end of this campaign as the lacklustre Kimi Raikkonen was looking to leave Formula One as soon as possible. However, the deal seemed to be dead in the water when the Scuderia announced that both Raikkonen and Felipe Massa have extended their deals until 2010.

Alonso was then linked with a long-term move to BMW, who were keen to team him up with his friend Robert Kubica as they look to close the gap on Ferrari and McLaren. Honda also made it clear that they were interested in the Spaniard's services with Ross Brawn saying "We're happy to wait and hope that he makes a positive decision for us."

But it was reported over the weekend the Alonso is ready to shun offers from BMW and Honda and extend his current deal with French squad Renault.

However, the latest claims emerging from Spain say Alonso could join the Scuderia as early as next year.

Marca says Spanish banking giant Banco Santander, currently sponsoring McLaren, wants to join forces with Ferrari, providing that Alonso is driving for them. The bank is reportedly prepared to pay out the remainder of Raikkonen's contract so that Alonso can join a year earlier with Ferrari ready to offer him a four-year deal.

I don't know when, but I'm sure the Ferrari -board wants Alonso in their car. :) It's likely Lewis Hamilton will never switch teams, just because his a Mclaren -product. Who else is there at this moment...Vettel is still to young and to unexperienced, maybe Kubica ? I bet Fernando will race a Maranello -car in 2010.... but that's just speculation. :D

In my soon to be 28th yr of watching/following F1 I have learned that 'anything is possible', yah I know you hate to hear that bud but it is the truth whether you want to admit it or not, and even though Ferrari has said Alonso will not race their car, I would say it's still a possibility.

From F1 Live:

Fernando Alonso has admitted he still harbours a dream to race for Ferrari one day.

The Spaniard was linked with the Italian marque this year, but it is now clear that - while weighing up a big-money offer from Honda - he is likely to stay at Renault for the 2009 season.

But he told Italy's Corriere dello Sport newspaper: "I admit that one day I would very much like to be with Ferrari."

"It's the best team in the history of Formula One, and it is clear that those who go with them, are part of history," the former champion said.

Ferrari has elected to stick with its current drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, until the end of the 2010 season.

Alonso said the last two Grand Prix, which he won, have not compensated for a difficult season, because his only goal is to 'win the title or at least be able to fight for it.'

But he said: "I do not consider this a lost year. I have remembered that I love Formula One, and how to enjoy it."

The 27-year-old is believed to have been courted by BMW Sauber for 2009, but Alonso denies that the deal fell through because he would not have fit in at the team.

"I have raced karts since I was three years old. In the last 24 years I have been fine with all of my teams, except for one," Alonso said with reference to his disastrous spell at McLaren last season.

"It was the same team that had problems with Senna, Prost, Raikkonen and Montoya. Perhaps the problem is with the team rather than with the driver," he told Germany's Stuttgarter Zeitung.

I feel sorry for the poor guys at Renault. The team are busting their balls to get Alonso to stay, but he keeps coming out with bullpoo like this. Alonso is like Nelson Piquet: a great driver, but one of the biggest c0cks you'll ever meet.
