Interesting and very strategic race. Lots of action of the good and then not so good kind (thinking of poor old FM's tire problems or FA DRS troubles).
SV in full control after the skirmishes in the first few laps, Lotus on the upswing with their superb tire management. Force India impressive from start to finish.

I loved skys post race interview with Whitmarsh. He squirmed.

Lol why was he squirming? :hehe:

You didn't watch it? Freakin awesome interview...Whitmarsh and Button were severely put on the spot, Button especially. Whitmarsh was just trying his best to keep peace.

Nah I don't subscribe to Sky, and this weekend, it was only highlights on the BBC.

So... tell me more :munchies::wink:

Boreain did not live up to its expectation this year.

Checo really did take the 'needs to be more aggressive' to heart.

Grossjean maybe did have a chassis problem. Who knew? Lotus' and Mercedes seem to be the flip side of the same coin. It looks like when Merc do well, Lotus struggle and vice versa.

The results at Mercedes was unexpected, I knew they would drop off and not win but Nico's drop was like a stone and Lewis made his alternate strategy work as best as it was going to.

McLaren is the most entertainment the sport is offering us currently, I think after today, Red Bull no longer leads in the no love lost department.

:yes::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I also seem to remember there being a fairly good race at Bahrain back in 2005 I think... Alonso VS Schumacher, tooth and nail. That, looking back through the mists of memories from days long gone by, seemed to be a good one.

I agree with everything you said apart from your last part about Red Bull.

Whitmarsh seems to bond with people amazingly and is fully supporting of both drivers, nothing was said on the radio to either driver they realise it's racing and Button is mature enough to realise that too. They'll sit down have a chat and it will be fine. You can hold me to that one.

Checo, Button and Whitmarsh all definitely know and understand that he went a bit too aggressive at his teammate however Checo was significantly faster and had better tyres Button should of let him go as they both would of had an easier race and potential for more points.

Longer? Don't you mean 6 laps shorter? I thought he lost the place to Grosjean.

The last two laps di resta made huge time on romain, going from 5 seconds behind to just over one.

ESPNF1; Bernie Ecclestone told the BBC that holding the Bahrain Grand Prix against a backdrop of widespread opposition within the kingdom was "stupid", referring in a slightly tongue-in-cheek way to the government's decision to stage the race rather than the FIA or Formula One's to allow it to go ahead.

"The government were stupid to put this race on as it's a platform for people to use to protest," he said.

Ecclestone was asked if there were any limits to where Formula One would go, with the question being put to him if Syria paid enough would F1 go there. "They haven't got a circuit," he replied. When pressed, he said: "We'd have to have a look and see.
