Based on the participation rate of some polls and such, I think we'll wind up with around 25 or 30 players.

And since the thread starter takes care of children for a living, I think she's fully qualified to take care us.

Woop! So I heard back from the guy who wrote the programme, and he's ready to bestow his amazing programme on anyone who, like would understand it? Don't let me down now, forumites! My back-up plan is to lure him away from his current website and get his bottom over here.

All this wheeling and dealing! I'm exhausted!!!!

Just kiddding. It took like, two emails.

I'm thinking we can muster up the required technical expertise. :D

Did he mention anything specific, a local executable or does it for you to create a database that you'd then query through MS Access?

Here's a link to the pool that SennaVille was talking about.

http://foas.us/F1POOL

I'm vaguely embarrased to discuss the specs... It uses a flat-file database to store the info. Written in PHP. Hard-coded points.. I had to implement a hack when we had that half-points race a couple of years ago. When I found out that we had a points change last year, I freaked out and had to change all my foreach loops. I'm much more awesome now.. You'll have to take my word for it.

If y'all want, I can host your pool this year, and give someone a login to administer. I can then zip up the files and give it to someone to host if they want to do so for the next year..

Who wants to administer it? I don't suggest SennaVille.. She had to call me when her cat pushed the F11 button and she couldn't navigate the web anymore. This was in 2003. I don't suspect that she has improved

Pr*st!

Thanks, and are you saying her cat is more PC literate than she is? I'll make sure one of the admins is notified and we get back to you with a decision regarding the how we'd like to do this.

I am up for this, I don't mind admin in it, or hosting it, however I am having a bit of trouble with my PHP server at the moment.

Yeah, there must be... myself, I get confused once I go past the F2 or F3... F11, that would require a call.
