still dont get why no one has snapped up the Hulk as a driver or reserve...

Me neither - surprised Mercedes don't, if i'm honest.

I just can't believe he couldn't get a drive though, it really is a joke. In some ways it simply makes F1 look bad.

Why? He wasn't that good.

That pole in Brazil showed a flash of brilliance that many drivers haven't, and that includes several established veterans!

Yeah but one drop of rain doesn't make a downpour. The way he's being talked about here, you'd think he'd embarrassed Rubinho or something. I'm not saying he's no good (that would be a frankly absurd insinuation, he's probably better at this stage of his career than a certain Scuderia driver was), I'm just questioning the idea it's somehow unthinkable he'd be passed over.

Ok, he wasn't brilliant the whole season, but that pole, the way he won it and the timing (in the end of season, so people still remember it freshly) should've been enough for him to warrant a cockpit next year. He was a lot better than the also rookie Petrov, for instance, and that one will stay at the grid.

Petrov though is Russian. And Russia, like China, controls the world. Petrov is hardly the first Russian to be given something undeservedly after a poor showing in a competitive event.

Didnt care much for petrov until abu dhabi, sometimes it takes some drivers longer to learn the ropes. Hes definitely shown on occasion he has what it takes, who cares if he payed, didnt alonso pay for some of hsi drives, regardless of how talented he is. Hulkenburg however, took an impressive pole, but other then that did not impress me at any given race in 2010, sometimes crashing through major rookie errors and throwing a tantrum as he got out, sure give him another year to show his stuff, he was brilliant in other series, but him over petrov, hmmmmm id stick with vitaly.

BBC article all but says, its going to happen. And they're normally pretty careful with their f1 rumours (well apart from EJ): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 371985.stm,

Press conference on Wednesday announcing drivers.

Is this news? I told you all it was a done deal! :D

well in fairness you gave it away by saying, ive got the inside info but cant say too much :hehe: , but asides its great for britain that we have a third driver on the grid

Am i the only one who likes it when drivers throw tantrums? I mean not in the "My team hates me, they are biased, my car is actually an HRT" but more like " My luck is so bad, I make many mistakes". To me it shows that the drivers are determined and really have a passion for the sport.

Also, autosport magazine say its 100% confirmed and it took so long because they were having contract problems with Liuzzi.

sutil i reckon will stay at force india for a least another season, and then might go for the mercedes seat ( when shuey decides to call it quits again for good), or when jenson retires i think he would be an ideal driver at mclaren, he is clearly talented
#236305
No way, Jensons seat should be reserved for Sebastian. McLaren to hire only WDCs/former WDCs from now on. Even if its Michael.
