OK Bernie, you've identified a problem, now do something about it.

Don't know if it would work but could teams be allowed to opt out of the constructors championship in return for extra testing over a season?

The problem with that is not points but highest finishing position, the team that gets the highest single finishing position in any given race will finish 10th in the constructors and that will be worth a whole load of money from FOM at the end of the season, so opting out of the constructors championship wouldn't be wise for the new teams!

 the smaller teams need as much money as possible, so opting out from the WCC championship wouldnt be a shrewd move!

HRT to use williams gearboxes for next season.

I think Bernie should of gave them more money as a start off.

I can understand him in a way having a go a HRT because at the start of the season I just saw them as a joke but in later races they have improved a lot, not in terms of pace but reliability so good for them!

Lotus and Virgin have picked up lately and I am looking forward to see how they perform in 2011.

I can see what Bernie is getting at because all he cares about is business and the new teams have brought nothing in terms of revenue or added interest etc. They should not be treated like 2nd rate teams though and hopefully they can prove him wrong next season.

Bernie needs to STFU.. The whole reason for floating the NEW TEAMS idea was to counteract FOTA when they were threatening to walk away. Now it seems when that threat has subsided, he has no use for them anymore?

HRT I can see being called out for treating their seats as money generating lotto tickets instead of getting the best driver they can to reasonably compete... As was mentioned the in season testing ban and budget caps are hurting these teams more than anything else. Lotus in particular I think has done a great job and has brought some good entertainment to the sport.

Bernie seems to forget that all his and his buddy Max's effing about with the budget caps last season seriously compromised these new teams...

I often wonder if Bernie just does this to bring attention back to F1 or what. These teams just entered F1.. what does he expect?

I don't know about Virgin or Lotus but HRT seems to be moving, first buying Toyota, then BMW gearboxes, etc...

Way out of the line from Bernie :nono:
