The only person's who's opinion really matters in this case stated it was his fault. Anything beyond that is conjecture at best and pot stirring at worst.

He wasnt, he gave a very fair account of all the frontrunners unique skills. I just picked that bit out, cos it was an interesting take i hadnt thought of.. He finished by saying there is no telling which driver's qualities will be most rewarded.
I was curious as to how people would respond to the suggestion, and the responses were intreguing . Truth is the only one who knows the real answer is Alonso, and its irelevant anyway. But as I said, reading the different views was interesting.

He went for it. Ok it didnt work and he shouldnt have done it in retrospect. But I hope he goes for it again next time he gets a chance. I dont want him to change his style, its whats exciting and brilliant about him. Mostly this year he's made up places in the first lap, lots of places, this time he lost out. C'est la vie.
