people are tribal, sport is tribal, comes down to human nature who they support.

Maybe for some but not all. Take me as an example who would I have to support that was worth a "pile of beans" in our generation of F1 if I strictly supported a US driver, Michael Andretti :hehe: ?

Ferrari is the biggest tribe in F1 :hehe:

Enough of the criticism of the poll :D:nono::hehe: . You only get 10 poll options - I started off with 25 options and had to cut back... Although I kinda wish there'd been space for a "Felipe Massa's bum" option...

I support drivers and/or teams completely unbased on their nationalities.

Current drivers I like are:
- Alonso, be because he is the best. Very clean and technical, kinda like Prost... with Senna's killer instinct, and balls ;)
- Kubica, because he is really good.
- Button because the man is smoooth. Surgically clean.
- Kimi because he's the coolest and fastest. Clean as well.
- Kobayashi is kindof a good unexpected surprise. Fast like hell, but doesnt appear to be as dirty/sketchy or at least is smoothing himself out bit by bit.

I guess my main criteria is cleanliness and pace. So, for example, guys like Vettel... very fast, but sketchy. And so is Hamilton.

Regarding teams, i've always liked Ferrari and that's it.
Funny enough... the domination days were not that interesting to me, and i ended up being more supportive to whoever was able to challenge them (and Schumacher); such as Montoya, Alonso and Kimi. Not because I particularily wanted their teams to beat Ferrari, but because it was obvious they were facing a major challenge... so they did some pretty amazing stuff in trying so!!

My wife supports Alonso because she finds him hoooooot, although after meeting Alguersuari she is kinda hard-pressed. Algy has the "hot body" as she would say ;)

so i guess I'm waiting for Danica Patrick....... :)

I would like to believe that we all support a drivers talent rather than his nationality after all racing is about talent right?

Tons of teenage girls support Jaime Alguersuari because of this talent.

I am not one of them because i dont find too much talent in him. Also, lots of girls find him cute but for me he isnt.Vettel is much more cuter than him :D

Lewis is my fave driver but i am not British.I am Turkish and we dont have a driver from Turkey. So i didnt vote the pool.If there were a driver from Turkey i would probably support him at first but then it would depend on his style, talent, characteristic.

British drivers and teams but like to see good competition as now with it being so close at the top, don't like seeing any driver running away with it even though it's up to everyone else to keep up.

I'm British and I support Lewis Hamilton but I don't think my reasoning has anything to do with nationality.

In fact, after the Clark/Stewart generation, Hamilton is the first Brit I'm actually a fan of. I don't think I'd ever have supported Mansell, Hill, Coulthard or Button, as lovely as I'm sure (most) of them are. I'd probably have cheered Brundle on though.

I also support Rosberg and a few other up and coming stars :D
