English was barsterdised by the Norman conquest, influx of French Romance words, ducked up the Germanic old English language!


All languages are the result of some other language getting bastardised :)
Very often the 'original' language dies and is completely taken over by the new one... so be wary englishmen, the American language is going to kill yours :hehe: just give it some centuries.

yeah i can see the likes of "yo sup homie me bitches be shopping" really taking off :twisted: I think the Americans will have to do a lot more than just drop a u now and then to claim a language of their own :rolleyes:

I expect the Yanks to drop the u from the following in order to stay consistent

We own the language free and clear as it is. Britain and Australia combined don't reach a quarter of our numbers. Both would be speaking German or Russian without us and besides, everyone knows that islands suck. Cheers mate :drink:

Now Canada is an interesting case. It's no fish no fowl, right smack in the middle between British and American English - so I don't think either side could claim them Canucks (sometimes, Canadian and American English are grouped together as North American English).
