The human side is there. But it's behind closed doors.

If you follow GP2 and read the blog and online magazine you can see the human side off their paddock, which is truly entertaining. I was actually reading in the GP2 blog that whenever Felipe Massa does well in Quali he doesn't change his underwear. Crazy superstitions.

But you just don't hear about that stuff in F1. It's fairly cold and corporate.

It always has been and luckily some of the newer teams (Lotus and Virgin in particular) appear to be more willing to open up than others.

Let's face it, with the onset of mass media Bernie wasn't the only one to be caught out by the rapid expansion of the Internet etc.

It's so hard to find anything from the 'modern era' of F1 but I do like things like this...

We need someone to turn up to the paddock in their pyjamas again like Jacques Laffite did at Dallas in 1984 when they had the warm-up at 7:30am and some drivers found it too early for getting up.

But imagine if that did happen again today, there'd probably be a scandal and front-page headlines such as "BANANA IN PYJAMAS!!!" or "x IN PYJAMA-GATE SHOCKER!!!".

Now Kimi might have done this out of most of drivers in the last 10 years... or even Irvine.

Sadly alot of a team's attitude depends on the kind of sponsors which the team attract as well as the team's traditional ethics.

Take Williams, for all they are racers they are very professional. Behind the scenes Sir Frank is probably one of the biggest jokers of them all. However, image wise Williams very rarely let their drivers come across as practical jokers. The whole operation has to be slick.

The McLaren engineers yesterday putting on fake and rather feminine earrings to mock Lewis' new image was amusing and a lot more human than I've come to expect from the team.

Agreed. That was funny as hell :hehe:
