Nigel Mansell a Hamilton hater? hahahahah what gives you that idea?

Paranoid fantasies! He slates all the current drivers anyway. :hehe:

Mansell's comments do have an air of sour grapes, but you can't really blame him given what he went through (and still succeeded by such a massive degree!). At the same time, why do i get the feeling he was merely talking about many young drivers nowadays, used Hamilton as an example and now the writer has twisted the article around? His comments certainly are applicable to many drivers, your Piquet Jr's and so on. Manufactured is probably the wrong word to use too, but i really do hate the manufactured personalities that 90% of modern F1 drivers seem to exhibit. :(

And where was Mansell's moustache manufactured?

This is an excerpt from a different source:

"McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh recently confessed that the 25-year-old had been something of ‘an experiment’ for the multiple title-winning concern, candidly acknowledging that ‘most of his (Hamilton’s) decisions were taken for him, in his life, in his career, in everything – it was a pretty artificial existence, and he had all the best equipment right through’ [see separate story – click here]. "

I believe this is true of many young drivers and Hamilton would be the first name to come to mind because of his status in F1.

Same with Tiger Woods.... and Michael Jackson... and many others. It will happen.
And opposite in other cases (Nelson Piquet Jr hehe, just kidding... i think he got a bad break)

If someone spots a talent at a young age they're going to make sure the opportunities are there to develop it. Whether or not "everyone" gets the same opportunities doesnt matter... and whether that "manufacturing process" goes together or as well as their human development we dont know. Seems like no, but... what can we do....

Hate may be to stronger word but why else would you actually lie about something which he obviously knows nothing about. Lewis was not sign up until the age of 13, that's when he was sponsored, before that it was his dad who worked two jobs top keep him in karting. Nigel has obviously been reading the wrong stories and before he shouts his month off he should at least make sure he knows what he is talking about before embarrassing himself.

Here is Lewis response

But Hamilton hit back at Mansell and defended his career path: "How many people from seven years of age have been given £2.5m to go karting? He is a world champion, a great star and I look up to him, but I wouldn't have expected that from him. Clearly he has not been reading the right stories or he has just not got his facts right. I wasn't signed up until I was 13, and I would love to see what happened to the rest of that money from the age of seven."

Michael Schumacher was groomed from an early age by Mercedes. Not sure but I think he worked solely with them until joining F1, and it was them who got him his shot, I think, correct me if I'm wrong, and always maintained a relationshp with them.
