Statistics on the Clip the Apex forum suggest 11 overtaking moves. That's more than in the past three years combined. Everyone knows races in Catalunya are boring, but today there was some entertainment provided by a few battles throughout the field. Nowhere near as bad as it could have been, or as people suggest.

The new teams are biasing the overtaking statistics. Anyone who falls to the back of the field should be able to easily pass up to six cars from the new teams, depending on how many are still running (or managed to start the race).

And most battles resulted in no overtaking.

Yeah. The race was poor.
It was watchable.... some hints of excitement here and there. But no real possibility to overtake. Its just impossible.

It would be boring if someone led flag to flag putting a pit stop in his pocket in the process at every race. It would be even more boring if it were the same guy every time. However I doubt it is boring for the guy doing it. It's probably what every driver aspires to. Webber won't be doing this every race and I don't expect that kind of runaway every race. It's a shame there's only 1.5 corners you can pass at this track. So one race was less edge of the seat viewing than the rest. Big deal. Whatever has been making F1 interesting to me still does.

The latest race was a hopeless ripoff for all those who actually paid money to watch it. To think this is supposed to be the summit of the sport.

Ey, I reckon if I was there it would have been amazing.
TV boring yeah. But live, there, be good

I didn't watch the race as I accidentally saw the result on the BBC website before getting the chance to watch the race on Monday morning; I didn't arrive back from my vacation until late Sunday evening. I don't bother watching sports events if I already know the outcome. But racing hasn't been racing in F1 for some time; a combination of drivers being constantly worried about being penalised by the inconsistent stewardship and the dirty air situation is still unresolved!!!

Its a pretty good season so far with the top drivers seperated by only a few points. Compared to previous seasons, the last few years have been exciting but there are certain tracks that will no allowed any overtaking no matter how much you make rule changes.

I thought it was a great race, Schumacher and Webber are drivers I support however :hehe:

Webber was smart to stay close to Adrian Newey, it's going to be Newey vs Schuey once again very very soon.

He is a legend that is true. But the idea that he alone can overcome teams is a myth and one used too often to glorify his title years.

Senna or Prost would of won in China in that Merc.
