yeah I didn't even bother to watch Malaysia, and that's unusual for me. If I had nothing to do, I would have, but with 3 kids and a visit to the in-laws, etc, I am content to read about it later. I still want ot watch MOST of the races though.

I was like that last season, when Ferrari was not doing good and Massa out i watched Moto Gp more and concentrated on Lorenzo + Rossi which was amazing. & this year F1 is good to be honest. Just give it time :)

i think that all sports are like this. at first you wonder what got you all excited last season because at the start of a new season its poor in any sport. but lets not forget that bahrain was dire, but Melbourne was somethin else. perhaps F1 climaxed early this year (he he) but i actually think that this season is goin to be good once it gets going.

My biggest issue is the refueling ban, it was the only way to pass drivers who were too quick to overtake on track but you could set lap times quicker than them so if you played your cards right you could pass them throughout the pit stop phase.

With that gone now you have to pass cars on track or hope they have some sort of failure.

i dunno how old you are but there was no problem pre 94 season with races being exciting without refuelling.

Indeed. The problem comes down to car-design, restrictive regulations (both car and engine) and the tyres used, I think.

My outlook is alittle different than most and the OP's. I simply love racing and do not need a specific team or driver to supply me with my needed joy to continue watching and following a specific series. As far as F1 and my three+ decades of following it I have been witness to numerous rule changes yet they have not and will not ever change my love for the sport.

Sometimes a more simplistic approach is what is needed instead of getting all funkedup about all the behind the scenes and/or political nonsense that goes on.

This season hasn't grabbed me but it's better than some seasons I have seen, I think that having to use both tyre compound rule is a stupid rule given the refuelling ban. Yes there has been more overtaking but the issue is that similarly matched cars really can not overtake each other because of the aero disruption behind the car. Look at Lewis in Melbourne; cruised upto the back of Alonso then could not make any further progress; because the slipstream affect of the late 90s and before isn't possible because of the stupid aero; back to the 97 spec; flat floors; no diffusers that tear up the air in the cars wake making it impossible to slipstream.

After the first race I nearly didn't bother watching the 2nd and 3rd, bloody glad I did though, great entertainment. Most of it due to the weather but fingers crossed it stays interesting.
