It seamed like a great call at the time, i was expecting him to just drive around Alonso.

But this is Fernando Alonso he's just dragged his car up from last to 4th he's not gonna give LH an inch.

Was on the edge of my seat as LH got closer to FA bit of an anti-climax but there was still abit of dicing.

I think if webber hadn't of hit the back of him he might of made that pass stick, but there was 2 laps to go so i doubt he would of got Massa that quicky

Overall he drove his socks of and he has to be praised for that, i can understnad why he was a little upset but he needs to keep his head in the game and save that stuff for later.

Makes him just look like a whiney kid.

That was a racing incident. nothing else. But its so typical of lewis to always blame someone else if the oppertunity arises.

He is talking about the decision to pit him not the crash!

but he is right if he didnt pit then he would have been on the podium. But the team obviously made the call thinking both the Ferraris and Renault of Kubica would make another pit, leaving Lewis ahead of them to possibly challenge Button. But they didnt.

But this site is just typical anything this guy does gets jumped on its getting boring to read and come on here to be honest.

he will keep on growing Bud. and he's taking a long time to learn how to control himself and keep his composure. He is a great driver. It would be great if he rather pleads the fifth sometimes and there will be less and less things for which he will get jumped on.. Sometimes I figure him to be younger than Vettel.

Hamilton cry again after he lack of patience, it was very dificult to pass Alonso, he took innecesary risks... as always.

Seriously, are you having a laugh or are you Spanish? Or maybe you watched a different race? It was not lack of patience, it was some Aussie bloke "deliberately" ramming Lewis off of the track, it had nothing to do with Alonso. Lewis would have had a run at Alonso, he was positioning for it before he got taken out.

Looking at the shunt from the ariel view, it looks to me as if Mark Webber deliberately rammed Lewis, perhaps the stewards should be looking at it too?

Lewis is a passionate racing driver, he is a winner and he wants to win, especially after last season, where he tried to defend a title with a dog of a car, thanks once again to McLaren.
Stop knocking Lewis for being a winner, if you are going to do that then knock Alonso, Shumacher and Rubens etc etc, they all do it and they do it because they are frustrated and want to win, that is the element that makes them winners, it is called having an edge!

Besides that Lewis was 110% correct, it was the wrong strategy and I think that sly dog Martin Whitmarsh gets it WRONG yet AGAIN! He seems to call the tyres wrong each time!

Now here is a little conspiracy theory for you, Whitmarsh knew that Hamilton was closing the leaders down, he knew if he got a shot at Button that he would take it, for reasons better known to Whitmarsh he decided to call Lewis in. Now did Whitmarsh do this because he favours Jenson or did he do it because knowing Lewis is a real driver and will take the chance, he was scared that Lewis may try and pass Jenson and take them both out of the race?

I think that if Whitmarsh is not careful, Lewis is probably going to be driving for either Ferrari or Red Bull next year! Lewis will not hang around to be treated like this.

If McLaren want to keep Lewis then they need to get rid of Whitmarsh and find someone that can make the correct call on the tyres, tyres are going to be the make and break of this season and I honestly do not think that Whitmarsh is up to the job.

Taking nothing away from the race winners and great to see Massa up there after last season, the true man of the race was indeed Lewis Hamilton, he rode an absolute corker of a race, overcoming so much to improve his position, while Shumacher was going backwards Lewis was on the charge, he drove out of his skin, a truly exciting and brilliant race and a joy to watch after the boredom of Bahrain! (But their track changes are another story entirely, what the hell were they thinking?)

Blah. Lewis complained he wanted to change his tires. He wore them out a lot more because he was always behind someone, and making great passes. Jenson didnt have to do any of that and was able to keep his tires. Lewis COULD HAVE not pitted, but his decision wasnt a no brainer like Jenson's.

I thought Fernando and Massa were going to pit... in fact they were planning to pit. They mentioned to Alonso by radio after Shumacher pitted that he was not going that much faster with the new tires anyway... so they decided to stay on track and take the gamble. Also the team asked Alonso if he wanted/needed to pit, he said NO and chose to stay out despite being held off by Massa/Kubica.

Lewis complained about his tire wear so i guess it was rational to pit him. Also, he was racing Webber (and he pitted). The others just gambled.

Q: You say that the strategy ruined your race, can you be a bit more precise?
LH: Well, I was in P3 and everyone else didn’t stop - but I stopped. I had already stopped once, and my tyres were fine and they would have lasted. Maybe I would have struggled a bit towards the end - but that is what all the other guys did. I was brought in for another stop, even though I would have preferred to stay out, but I didn’t question the decision because I trusted that was the right one. After pitting again I had a 20-second gap to catch up and then I was taken out by Mark. All that wasn’t cool.

This is getting really tiresome. Again another person that does not seem to have watched the race or LISTENED to what Lewis said or what Martin Whitmarsh said, come to that. Did you not listen to Whitmarsh? Did you not hear him say they got it WRONG? And when exactly did you hear Lewis saying that about his tyres? He did not complain he wanted to change his tyres, much later in the race AFTER he pitted he said something about the tyres, for goodness sake get it right!
McLaren nearly cost Lewis the championship for calling it wrong on his tyres in 2008! Nothing changes it seems.

Lewis fights for every point, he NEVER gives up, the same mind set as Shumacher and the other greats, it is what separates racing drivers from GREAT racing drivers.

Races until someone decided McLaren Favours Jenson and that's the only plausible reason he did better than Lewis:

Two.

Wow, that's even faster than last year with Brawn!

What levels would those be? Care to elucidate? Care to explain all the duff tyre choices in 2007 AND 2008?

I am not taking anything away from Jenson, he is as they say " a smooth driver" and good luck to him, however, I think the true man of the race was indeed Lewis Hamilton.
Remind me where Jenson started in Bahrain and where he finished?

I remember him (Lewis) complaining about his tires a bit before his stop, i think graining or wear (dont remember too well). But in any case, i'm sure everyone was caught surprised with the Ferraris not pitting. Massa had been struggling for a while. Had it not been Alonso behind, Lewis would have been through. Also, Lewis had to race Webber (he ended up racing the Ferraris by out of the gamble).

What i'm trying to say, it was not a straight forward "The team made the wrong decision pitting Lewis". it was more, the other teams made a gamble that payed off if only slightly.

Who is asking you to argue? You quoted my post as being wrong on so many levels and I asked you to elucidate on what levels my post was wrong, if you are not prepared to explain why you make a comment, or you simply cannot say why my post was wrong on so many levels, then "simples" do not quote other people and start arguing with them, if you are unable to follow through.
