Simply put NO. Alonso is an amazing driver I'll agree with that but I personaly would not even start comparing him to MS in any sense unless he was on his sixth WDC. Even if he matched or surpassed MS in WDC's to me he will never come close to filling MS's driving shoes.

Impossible to compare anyone to MS. 2000-2004 was a different era. It was Ferrari and Ferrari only, last years have been pretty close (except last one) and most likely no one will have so big advantage like Ferrari had. It's like comparing Michael Jordan to todays player - totally different game.

It's also pointless and the drivers don't care. They don't like to be someone else, they like to create their own legacy, so in the future if people are talking about overtaking they think about Lewis and when they're talking about consistency they think about Alonso.

if people talk about overtaking then they think what?? huh ??? when ?

Maybe 75% Alonso and 25% Schumacher but that is only because Schumacher holds the record in pole positions and was usually controlling the races from the lead, kinda redundant isn't it :D ?

Why doesn't racechick like shumi. ? He so very likable guy and very great talent behind the wheel. I dont get it

Damon!! Cheating!! Barichello!! Johnny Herbet!! To mention just a few. I dont think he's a likeable guy actually. But I am aware that I probably dont give him credit for what he did achieve. i find it hard to see past the bad stuff.

Broken record Tex?? That would be Schumi's, record yeah?

How about some of Lewis's moves in the past, should we all who are not Hamilton fans just brush them aside?

I dont think he's a likeable guy actually.

Many think the same about Lewis but you seem to overlook that  !

And you take every opportunity to let everyone know that  .

I don't think it's fair to grade drivers on the number of titles they win, that only makes them the best of their era and even then it's easy to neglect what advantages they may have had. Based purely on talent I think Alonso is already up there with Schumacher, but that's just my opinion.

Saying that, I can't imagine we'll ever have another 'Schumacher era' (or at least I hope we don't), the depth of talent is far too good now.
