Hi there, I'd say its within the bounds of the regs seeing as this is somewhat related to f1, therefore the regs ought to be covering this situation in some-way. Saying outside the regs implies they've broken the regs.

To an extent, it's governed by the regulations - they can't use current tyres and I don't think they can test parts that match up with this year's regulations.

If Ferrari are testing within the rules and regs setforth I cannot help but wonder in dismay why this is being discussed once again or why a new thread had to be started?

Because Ferrari are doing it.

Yah I know blame has to be given to someone and the greatest F1 team ever is and will continue to be the scapegoat. :wavey:

Hey, I don't agree with everything they do, but it frustrates me when people just have a go for no reason at all. Same with any other team.

No angel. They are within their rights. The FIA really do not need to have control over this as well. I think the dictatorship has fallen...

No no, I don't think you understand, the FiA absolutely indisputably do have control over this. It just so happens that Ferrari are doing it by the book, completely above board, as sanctioned by the FiA.

Oh Golly , what have I done !! Maybe I was wrong in the way I put my 2cents in words. yes under the regs it is allowed and Ferrari is doing it by the book. They are not braking any laws as regards to the FIA and as stipulated in the regulations allowing testing in "old" cars and yes the drivers will not benefit per say by driving it.( actually they do, it helps get the rust off ) . Ferrari can do what they want as headless says! Whatever they want whenever they want. guess thats arrogant but we dont really care.

True dat.

i hate the testing ban, ensures that people start the season with problems they had no idea that they had. and means that there is nothing to watch in the long off season.

Yeah i have to admit the testing ban is properly ridiculous in that sense. The only real way it helps is that it evens out the testing that every teams get - I do remember the top teams flying round a track for hundred's and thousand's of miles before a season - when the lower end teams would barely get any.

I think they should definitely enforce this 'testing on Mondays' idea. Hats off to Bernie for this one. Sounds like a really logical way to test for not a lot of moohlah.

They should also let the third drivers do some of it.
