I completely agree, and it should always end at Brazil, but they managed to screw that up too.

They keep posting updates on their facebook. Pictures of their shop. They posted one a few mins ago showing them building offices... 2 and a half months before the season begins they're still building their base! what the hell! clearly they've not got it all in order. They're going to be awful.

Or maybe they have more ambition than the other new teams, because they are building property doesn't mean that they don't have a well developed car for the season opener!

Those pictures have been posted on their official website for some time now, along with a video taking you all around it. The Facebook page is not official, its been put up by a fan for other fans, everything they have posted on there is from other sources.

US F1 promises innovative car design

Team US F1 has promised an innovative approach for the design of its first Formula 1 car, as the Charlotte-based operation edges closer its first test with the 2010 challenger.

The outfit has spent almost one year working on the new car and one of its chief designers, Scott Bennett, has revealed that the team will not simply be following the pack.

"I'm extremely fortunate in that I've been able to do most of the car's layout from day one - I've seen and had a hand in almost every step of its evolution," he wrote on the Team US F1's official website.

"Primarily I've been responsible for the front and rear suspension, particularly packaging. This has been a huge challenge. F1 cars are small, and we are fitting a lot of stuff into a very tight volume.

"And we're doing a few things quite differently than they have been done in recent years. I can't give specifics (yet), but we've looked at everything with a fresh perspective, and come up with some different answers.

"We'll know whether they were the right or wrong answers soon enough, but our car certainly won't be a clone of anything else out there. And did you know that we're the only one of the four new teams designing our own gearbox?"

Bennett is overjoyed at the opportunity he has got to help work on US F1's first car, with only a few weeks now before the machine hits the track for the first time.

"In less than a year we've built a very capable shop, put together the smartest and most talented group of people I've ever had the privilege of working with, and designed what should be a fast, reliable, safe, drivable, and yes, beautiful car," he said.

"This team means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but for me it's literally a dream come true. When those lights go out at the start of our first race, it will be both the end of a long road, and the start of a new one. I can't wait."

£20 says that the car has absolutely zero unique innovations.

I still don't buy it. If they're as fantastic as they purport to be, how come nobody's signed to drive the damn thing? How come they haven't got a laundry list of blue ticket sponsors? US F1 is an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a pancake. And until they answer the many questions over their heads, I have my doubts.

They must not realise people see right though that and just thing that there a bunch of muppets.

All we've seen so far of this car is a nose cone and a mould for a tub.

All the other teams have at least scale models avalible.

Sounds like what happened to the Honda-Brawn car doesn't it? Look how that turned out.

Honda-brawn had drivers? They just had to make sure they kept those drivers when they became brawn. I was talking about having drivers to lead development, getting a car that suits their driving style etc.

It's absolutely nothing like that. The Honda-Brawn situation had Jenson, and Rubens was always in the wings. Plus, their uncertainty only came later on - US F1 has been suspect for more than half a year.

$500,000,000.00 worth of design and extensive wind tunnel testing +FIA regulation loophole exploitation = WCC + WDC. My point is those guys were blind after Honda pulled out and the Mercedes marriage was a gamble that paid off handsomely. What USF1 is saying is that they are going for it all. Either the car will be revolutionary or it will be crap. I like this approach and if the car has any design advantage like Brawn did last year it won't matter whose driving it.
