Grosjean won the F3 euroseries and in my opinion thats worth much more than doing well in GP2. Euroseries is much more competitive, whilst GP2 is very cost driven. A lot of the drivers are financially backed and not that great, and teams rely heavily on finances to keep the cars running smoothly and quickly.

Also, the 08 Honda was much better than the 07 Honda. Yet Jenson scored more points on 2007.

I was never convinced by Grosjean, he seems to be a driver that is good in a good car but piss poor in an average/poor car. I don't believe any amount of testing will help that!

If you can be good in a good car then surely you are a good driver. Our current champion only scored 3 points in 2008 because he was in a bad car and then scored 95 points in a good one. Kubica scored 17 points this season compared to 75 the previous season.

The difference is that Jenson scores points in a poor car, and this years Renault was nowhere near as bad as the Honda was in 2008.

The difference is Jenson had 7 years experience behind him starting 2008. I just think your writing Grosjean off based on totally unfair circumstances for him to ever shine. He reminds me of Massa starting back in 2002, of course Massa scored 4 points compared to Nick's 7 and had testing and did the full season but found himself without a drive in 2003. Massa was all over the place but fast at times.

I think Grosjean will be back. Not this year though.

Heh, no it wasn't. It was if your name is Barrichello, but Ross Brawn has pointed out the 08 Honda was very ill-suited to JB when they stopped development on it.

Fact with Grosjean is it does not matter how good he is. He was Flavio's pick, so at Renault, he is tainted goods.

It's always a shame when a new driver leaves after only a handful of races, but I agree with most posters here, he's just not experienced enough to drive for a larger team like Renault. Hopefully one of the smaller teams will pick him up and give him a chance to grow.

to be fair to BADoer, when you look at how far off the pace the Ferrari was at the start of the year, how much of that was the driver getting used to the car? If you think Fisi was up to speed in another current F1 car then where he was when he stepped into the Ferrari.

Maybe KERS cars are pigs to drive

Raikkonen admitted recently that it had been a difficult car to get to grips with.

You also need to take into account that badoer was just the reserve driver, not some young rookie being given his shot. Badoer had little to prove and with the grid so competitive and that ferrari the opposite he did the safe thing by keeping out of everyones way.

I am sure that is true but he could of done it a bit faster
