Sir Richard Branson and his team nearly managed to make history and nearly managed to take F1 to a whole new croud of people, he wanted to bring even more bumps and curves into the sport!
He had planned to get a female driver into F1, this would of been a huge achievement for women and the sport, it would of also been great for Virgin to be in the limelight with somthing so big.
The female in question is 27 year old Danica Sue Patrick, she is a IRL IndyCar driver as well as a model and a spokeswoman.

In 2005 she was named and crowned the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Inianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar series, in 2008 she made history by being the first woman to win an IndyCar race at Indy Japan 300 and in 2009 she made even more history by finished 3rd in the 2009 Indiapolis 500 setting the highest finishing position for a woman and overall finishing 5th for the season
Unfortunatly she opted to stay in the US to compete in more IndyCar races
Team boss Alex Tai said: “There isn’t really a female out there right now who could do it.
“This is a really physical and exhausting sport and they would find it hard to cope.”
Billionaire Branson argued: “I would have loved to have had a looker like Danica drive."
“She is not only good and quick, she’s a stunner. “I believe there is room for women drivers in F1.”
She would bring more models, women and glamour to F1, just check out the following pictures of her looking stunning:

Now think of how many more people would watch F1 witha female driving, or even better on pole (even better she could be poledancing)
