Kimi to Williams? doubt that.

But the Rosberg to Lotus kinda makes sense if he knows 1. Schumacher is going to join them and 2. They want Vettle for 2011

Because he'll get shown up by both, that said if i where him i'd stay in the merc knowing i could get a good chance for a race win vs Lotus who are unlikely to be up there in their first year.

This means that there's now an open seat at Merc if so it would make alot of Sense of Kimi ended up there since he fear's nothing especially not Schumacher.

I'm hearing Rosberg may be headed to Lotus - for 2010.

Mercedes GP does not need another driver to slip through their fingers. Mercedes GP does not need to be upstaged by another team in the PR game again. Strange things indeed in Merc GP's driver negotiations - Button and Brrichello, two of the top 3 2009 drivers out ad in...Rosberg, who may be out before that even happens? What are they doing over there?

How on earth has this happened? I thought Rosberg to Mercedes was a done deal? Unless there were some kind of clauses like Kubica has in his Renault contract if the team mess around.

Contracts in F1 aren't worth the paper they're written on.

 Woah... Is that source any good (and does there appear to be anything to that rumour)??

PitPass are running with it as a 50/50. We will know tomorrow.

Yeah, that article looks like the result of the crazed ravings of a mad person - Kimi to Williams?!? I don't believe a word of it.

Merc can win races... Kimi and Rosberg could be a good mix...

This Rosberg to Lotus stuff is absolute bull in my opinion. I will be shocked and horrified if this somehow happens. I'd rather be beside the worlds best driver in a race winning car, than with a backmarker and scoring 1 or 2 points in a year. If you don't believe you can beat the guy in the car next to you, then you to consider what your doing in F1. I massively respect Jenson's decision to race with McLaren for this very reason. I think he'll get beat down by Lewis, but his self-belieft and determination is extremely admirable, and I wish him the very best.

Right now Brawn in my opinion are actually waiting for Kubica. Montezemlo will not let Schuy go whilst he still draws breath. In terms of selling cars, Schumacher is a massive asset. To say Schuy helped build this ferrari is extremely valuable to Ferrari. If they instead let him go to direct competitor is crazy. Ferrari won't let Schuy go, simple as.

If Kubica get's out of his contract after Renault sell's of it's majority share, he may very well go to Brawn GP. But we have to wait till after christmas for that.

Fixed that for you.

Car or engine?

Car. The engine is still the best, except on HP (The unreliable Cossie has more). Of course that could change with these rumours of the engine equalisation, but I doubt it.

The Cosworth was reliable (once they fixed the conrod problems), the car that was last using it in 2006 wasn't.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was all a Ross Brawn masterplan, we'll find out next season, if Mercedes get trounced by McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull, we'll know whether it was bad decision making, I don't believe Rosberg is a team leader and I wonder whether Schumacher still has what it takes to win at F1 level at the age of 41 come next season!

If people did the maths right, Williams could have won several races this season if they had had the Mercedes or BMW, rather than the Toyota engine which had a power deficit which, according to engineers at various teams, could be as much as three tenths per lap depending on the circuit. But of course, with a different engine that would mean a slightly different car, with different balance, different fuel consumption etc.
