I don't like the guy, but if he does join Mercedes then the big 4 teams all produce top cars, next season could be truly epic.

Indeed it would be EPIC

Rosberg with Schumacher (Rosberg in my opinion is championship material and has a HUGE potential!, we all know Schumacher has proved to be a great driver and he could rub some of his knowledge and experience into Rosberg)
Button and Hamilton (Button is smooth, Hamilton is very aggressive and pushes his car to the max, if they work as a team they could be unstoppable I mean, if Button shows Hamilton a few things and vice versa they could become agressive, push the car to the max, get the most out of the car and manage there tires...)
Massa and Alonso (Massa is the letdown in this team, however Massa knows the car and could teach Alonso a few things and then Alonso could teach Massa a few things....)
Webber and Vettel (Sorry Webber, but your the letdown in this team Vettel is championship material, however you did show a few times in 2009 that you are a great driver, your experience with vettel's youthful madness could be a good mix)

All in all, those 4 teams could potentially leave the rest of the field behind, it's going to be a sweet season!

I don't want shumacher back, and I don't think its too likely.

He's a great driver with a great achievement record, but its time to move on.

You pretty much took the words out of my mouth :)
I thought I was the only one who didn't want to see him back!

I really hope he doesn't come back, even though he would appear to be still on the pace (after watching him in the karting with Massa).

Schumacher was a class act, but coming back at 40 he will be going up against Alonso(28), Hamilton(24), Button(29), Massa(28), Rosberg(24). I just cannot deem it a good decision. His age will be working strongly against him for the first time ever. You just need to look at Rubens in Brazil, he could have won the race but at 38 his neck was in bits half way through the race and his lap times began fading.

RB is no MS! MS has been one of the fittest (and most self-motivated) drivers ever and still is up there with the young guns.

EJ may be many things but he isn't very often wrong.I didn't think it was likely at first but I'm starting to think thre's something in it now.
Can't say I'm bothered if he comes back or not to be honest. If he does I hope he sees a lot of the McLaren rear wings :)

Don't be silly. While he has been one of the fittest, most self motivated drivers ever he ain't up there with the current young guns anymore.

I actually watched that. And if you read my first post I also mentioned the Karting. Are you sure you read my first post? I think you got me wrong here. My problem with him coming back is his age. At 40 he won't be able to race an F1 car at it's limit for as long as the younger guys can. Hence the ages of the drivers in my original post.

Well, your statement about him not being up there with the current young guns makes even less sense :P
What he 'might' lack in age-related fitness (not saying he really does), he can easily make up with his legendary determination to overcome such potential shortcomings, with his drive for perfection, his motivational and leadership skills within a team and with his vast racing experience. There's also genius Ross to help him out with race strategy, etc.

Michael retiring in the first place makes even less sense again if he comes back... My fear is if he comes back he won't be on the pace and will struggle for the year or even worse walk away from the drive mid season.

I've been left emotionally unstable after Hill in 99.

Wow, that's been 10 years that you were emotionally unstable :yikes::rofl:
Trust me, MS is special. If he thinks he's ready for the challenge and can produce the goods, I have no doubt he will be...

I felt that for quite a while after Hill left, the feeling that things didn't feel the same without him. :(
