I can kinda understand the er lusting?...fascination? with Massa but Vettel?

Vettel-mania has struck F1 Fans and non-F1 fans alike all over the world.

I think it's great. He really is a superb character. Perhaps that's why he took out this title. His personality, combined with talent, age, and maturity really puts him ahead of the rest of the field.

He lacks the arrogance of the top drivers, and doesn't whine like crap drivers. If he makes a mistake he admits it, but then we call to mind the fact that he is only 22.

He does need to learn how to overtake and improve his starts. But he could be the World Champion next year.

However I'm worried that the Red Bull car will be competitive enough...

I'm happy that Vettel was voted the best.

Perhaps the list should be called "Most Valuable Driver." Vettel is a superb investment for any team.

I'd probably find it more agreeable if it was called that

I think at the end of the day it does not matter, what we think about the list. as the team bosses are the ones that have the say, and if that is what they think, that is what they think.

Sutil I would imagine got points because Doc Mallya said it.

What's not to like about Vettel?

Er, I'm a bit biased about this, since I support Vettel and all
I can see why they've voted for him as the best driver (when he finishes, he finishes well), but I can also see that he's made some big mistakes that cost him a lot... But then again, he's made some big mistakes and still ends up as second in the championship.

I agree with Kimi situation. He was fantastic this season. Although it's impossible to tell how good Alonso was because most of the time his car was just the "worst ever made"

Ive decided I much prefer mark Hughes ranking over the team bosses, it goes thus
1 Hamilton (as soon as the car could perform he was consistently brilliant- Monza showed still capable of mistakes)
2 Button (Very effective when car was superior, but with a less competitive car, he dropped and lost consistency)
3 Vettel (too many mistakes)
4 Webber (suffered when grooved tyres went and he couldnt use his skill of finding the limit-devastating performance inNurburgring)
5 Kubica (not got the machinary but the only one all the competitors worry about if he does get the kit)
6 Alonso (Not able to show true potential because of car)
7 Massa (Had edge over Kimi before accident, what could he have done on the tracks better suited to the Ferrari)
8 Kimi (An enigma. Performances often fell short of potential)
9 Rubens (only 3 excellent races -Spa,valencia, onza.More than a number2,not a number 1)
10 Rosberg (Close call with Nick -flashes of excellence but also questionable drives)

Button was consistent; he dropped off after the first half of the season but was pretty consistently in the lower end of the points, how many races did he fail to score?

Well, last night I watched Vettel for a bit in the ROC replay. I saw him beat Hirvonen quite comfortably in the rally. For him to win the Race of Champions 3 years in a row (Ok so Schumy helped) makes him the best driver in the World.

It might be in doubt with his mistakes in F1 this year, but hey - his rivals have the SAME car in ROC.
