I assume you'd say pretty Equal if it was the 2011 car assuming Jenson stays for the 3 year deal...

Yes, 2011 (Assuming they can give them a car they can both work with) I'd say pretty equal. They compliment eachother nicely. When he has a sniff of a big score, Lewis will fight tooth and nail to get it. Occasionally that means he blows it, but he gets the score enough to make up for it. Button meanwhile is a wily and consistent driver who racks up the points all the time. Over a season they'd probably average out roughly even.

We'll have to see, i think this year Lewis will finish ahead of JB by a huge margin.

Then it will be closer next year with Lewis still ahead, i just think Lewis is more mature now so he can match Jenson - i could be wrong tho so i guess we'll have to see.

Still it will be good to have Jenson actually score podiums and points no doubt over hekki.

The size of the margin depends on a lot of things. We will see. It'll be nice for us to be pretty much on the same side for once though

There are pros and cons for both drivers. E.g., JB is smooth and manages his tires quite well, which is important for next season. On the other hand, he's always had trouble getting temp into his tires, which might get him relegated off the starting line (and other places such as after a SC period), so he may well have to come from behind more often than not. At the end of a race it then could come down to who has more tire left and who needs to conserve fuel...

I agree with most of this, I think they will compliment each other well and when lewis goes for the big one and it goes wrong Jens will pick points up,where heiki didnt. The question mark is the car. One would assume development has gone towards Lewis' style since he's the one they knew would be in the car when they began work. But thay have had to design around no refuelling and I think that will suit Jens. Also its important how the drivers react to the car. Jens is ace if the car suits..and it might, but he cant adapt well if it doesnt. Lewis can usually adapt style or drive round problems. Much will depend on the car but I think Lewis will be ahead, not by a huge margin, a sort of medium sized margin.

Indeed, the car situation stacks it in Lewis's favour. But JB should be able to do enough to not embarass himself.

Depends on neutrality of the car; if it can be set up for both drivers different styles then I think come the end of the season they'll be reasonably equal but I believe Lewis' more aggressive style with edge Jenson in the points, I would say less than 10 points separating the two drivers come November '10!

They'll be pretty even.

The car will probably favour Lewis, but Mclaren couldnt go out and design a car 100% counting on aggressive driving considering they will have to take care of tyres and fuel. If the car is 'unbalanceable', then Jenson will probably be handicapped, but i doubt in a whole season Mclaren/Jenson and their engineers wont be able to sort most of the issues out... Jenson will also have to 'adapt' but he's determined and experienced enough......

i think they'll be pretty even. They're both good drivers; but Lewis will get couple more pts in those drive your heart out races and maybe in the beggining while/if Jenson has to adapt.... while Jenson will get more pts when Lewis makes mistakes and/or has problems with the tyres.

Doesnt matter anyway! i wanted Kimi to teammate w/ Lewis... or w/ Alonso at Ferrari. :banghead:

Was it their opinion that JB should have stayed with BGP?

Don't let Jensonb see you put BGP. He will correct you.

I think their view was that, presumably. It was on BBC Teletext where I read it.
