Crazy question : will Ross consider Kimi if he could afford him ?? Has there at any time been some news of contact between them at all?. I wont put it past ross to pull something like that... but why would he...

if ross won't thinks button's pay demands are too high, kimi will give him a heart attack.

How much are mclaren offering button, compared to what their offering kimi?

Who will brawn get if jenson goes?

I think this possibility will probably boil down to how much Kimi wants in comparison with Jenson. If Kimi wants more than what Button is asking for, Ross Brawn will struggle to get Kimi in the Brawn.

On the other hand, Brawn are the current Champions regardless.

but if kimi wants less than button, won't mclaren just pay kimi then?

Ross Brawn is a very smart man, I'm sure he has some sort of plan or game hes playing here, he's got me stumped though.

kimi also wants freedom to do rallying and whatnot which mclaren apparently not happy with...but i think kimi wants more than what button would be prepared to accept. got me stumped as well...

I guess Button is asking for more than Ross thinks he's worth

According to the Telegraph, Button wants £8m from Brawn(£5m more than last year). That's significantly more than McLaren are offering Kimi (5m euros, about £4.5m). It sounds like a big bluff to me. I can't imagine that McLaren are willing to pay that much for Button, not when they're stalling at 5m euros with Kimi.

Hmm, looks like its ross playing hard ball then, he won't give in becuase hes calculated that button will have to stick with brawn.

Unless ross has an eye on another driver he thinks it'll be worth sacrificing button for to keep the wage bill down, but I'll be amazed if thats kimi

Kimi's the better driver between the two of them... somebody give Ross a call and ask him what the hell he's up to !!!

Well, if rumours are to be believed, he's already got Rosberg to fill in for Barrichello. I imagine there'd be a fair few drivers happy to take a seat at Brawn, especially considering that some very reliable and experienced drivers are now out of a seat.

Lots of rumors of Button being at McLaren all afternoon yesterday. Is it to get him or to speed kimi's decision up ?.
Like said before I can't think why Mclaren would pay Button £8 mil and only offer Kimi £5m (+ferrari dosh).I would of thought after Kimi driving for Mclaren before, the people round there would know Kimi well enough to know what his motivation might be.
Time will tell, wouldn't like to 2nd guess anything at the moment.

Which is why I think it's a big game. McLaren would be mad to pay £8m for Button without offering Kimi that deal first and, so far, it seems they're sticking with their offer of £5m.

The rumours help Button to put pressure on Brawn and McLaren to put pressure on Kimi, I can't actually see it happening.

It looks like Mclaren, Brawn, Jenson and Kimi are playing a game of who flinches first.

Mclaren are in the best position really as they have a top driver already.

Jenson might get himself in a bad situation especially if he upsets brawn to much and they end up signing Kimi and Rosberg and Mclaren take Nick however thats unlik

Kimi doesn't care.

Brawn could do with Keeping Jenson but i can see why they wouldn't want to pay 8mil for him if they are struggling, but with the rumours that there getting alot of Merc money then why be so stingy.
