I don't believe that it will become Mercedes F1/GP, if Mercedes does buy Brawn, I believe it'll be named "Mercedes Brawn F1" like BMW retained the Sauber name!

I believe that Ross Brawn will want to retain part ownership, maybe 20%, personally I don't like the idea of another wholesale manufacturer team, you never know when the manufacturer will pull the plug, look at Honda and BMW, also Renault and Toyota are doubts for the future despite signing the concord agreement!

Retaining part ownership hasn't appeared to help Sauber much... :(

Sauber has not got a 100% strike rate

There are some differences though, Peter Sauber isn't a technical genius and strategist having to rely on others for that; RB managed to put a team together in less than one month and still managed to win both drivers and constructors championships. Plus BMW screwed over Peter Sauber by not signing the concord agreement; hence making the sale of the team and continuation of the Sauber name very difficult. I would hope that Mercedes would manage the situation better than BMW did! And of course Ross Brawn has already survived the demise of one manufacturer, what makes you think he couldn't do it again and come out the other end much better!

I'm not much of a fan of manufacturer team fan with the exception of Ferrari who are racers first and foremost. Most manufacturers are only in it to boost brand identity!
